Today, one day after installation was completed, we woke up to water dumping into our basement from the new humidifier, a huge hole in our duct work blowing heat into our storage room, a lack of clean-up from the crew (screws everywhere, open wires hanging, etc.), and our hot water heater not working. You may be wondering, why not the hot water heater - well we actually have no idea why, but they had to replace the flue on the hot water heater for some reason, and since then it hasn't worked.
Given above, we expected rapid service but after calling the office this morning, we were told we will need to once again wait around all day for them to arrive to diagnose the problem, and that the repairs will need to be done by installers so this will not happen until Monday, again another day of waiting on their team.
Clearly this company sells you something to get business and then does not care about customer service beyond that. I would not recommend them, and regret not selecting another company we received a quote from.
I came home from work at 5:30 p.m.and found it cool in the house. I checked the thermostat to see what the inside temp was and there was a red system warning light on. After researching what the error code meant and could not find a remedy, I called Standard, Heating and Air.
I called their 24 hour service number a little after 6 and their dispatch manager, also named Nick, called me back within minutes. After asking me a few questions, he determined that it was not something that could be fixed over the phone, so he dispatched the other Nick to troubleshoot the problem who showed up around 7:30 (he was on another call when he got the call to service my furnace).
Nick did some testing and troubleshooting and determined it was the thermostat on my HVAC/heat pump system. Fortunately for me, he carried a new replacement unit in his service van. It was not cheap as I could have purchased something similar for less, but after hours service and having him install the unit and get it setup and working in short order was well worth the money.
Nick had to replace the control unit near the furnace and go out side in single digit temps to replace the temperature sensor on the heat pump in addition to the thermostat itself.
I am pretty handy when it comes to doing things myself, but getting Standard Heating and Air to fix the heating system on a very cold night, was a bargain and something I would have taken 4 to 5 times longer to do, since I had no clue what to check and replace.
I do have an annual service contract with them to perform routine check ups and maintenance, This did provide me with a half price service call charge in addition to a great discount on the replacement thermostat.
I would recommend Standard Heating and Air to anyone.
I have Standard Heating and Air Conditioning, on a contract for annual check ups on Heating and air conditioner.
They come in twice a year.
I also get a discount on parts if they are needed.
They do their job, what I expect them to do.
Very professional and do a good job.
You might have to call them to see when they are coming out next.
