I would give them a B and only because I'm dealing between them and our home warranty company as well, which was really time consuming and laborious. But I think it was mostly because of the home warranty system, and not necessarily Standard. They were good, they were very friendly on the phone, and everything else I get. They were kind of caught in the middle, because it was a home warranty company that we were going through to get through them. But they were very friendly, very receptive and they understood that we have frustrations as well.

When installation crew arrived, we were told we couldn't actually install a 95% efficiency furnace into our house despite being sold this by the sales rep. The installation crew told us this happens quite frequently where the sales rep doesn't actually know what is possible or not, and that we should just install an 80% furnace instead. Additionally, after being told we could relocate our a/c unit, we were told we couldn't. Again, because the sales rep didn't know what he was talking about. Finally, after the sales rep arrived to discuss, we were able to find work arounds that the installation crew continued to shut down. At the end of the day, the crew was just too lazy to want to do the additional work required to instal the flue. Overall this required 2 full days of someone staying home from work when we were told  it would take 8 hours. A huge inconvenience.

Today, one day after installation was completed, we woke up to water dumping into our basement from the new humidifier, a huge hole in our duct work blowing heat into our storage room, a lack of clean-up from the crew (screws everywhere, open wires hanging, etc.), and our hot water heater not working. You may be wondering, why not the hot water heater - well we actually have no idea why, but they had to replace the flue on the hot water heater for some reason, and since then it hasn't worked.

Given above, we expected rapid service but after calling the office this morning, we were told we will need to once again wait around all day for them to arrive to diagnose the problem, and that the repairs will need to be done by installers so this will not happen until Monday, again another day of waiting on their team.

Clearly this company sells you something to get business and then does not care about customer service beyond that. I would not recommend them, and regret not selecting another company we received a quote from.

Overall, Nick Neuman with Standard Heating and Air did a wonderful job in fixing our heating system.
I came home from work at  5:30 p.m.and found it cool in the house. I checked the thermostat to see what the inside temp was and there was a red system warning light on.  After researching what the error code meant and could not find a remedy, I called Standard, Heating and Air.
I called their 24 hour service number a little after 6 and their dispatch manager, also named Nick, called me back within minutes. After asking me a few questions, he determined that it was not something that could be fixed over the phone, so he dispatched the other Nick to troubleshoot the problem who showed up around 7:30 (he was on another call when he got the call to service my furnace).
Nick did some testing and troubleshooting and determined it was the thermostat on my HVAC/heat pump system. Fortunately for me, he carried a new replacement unit in his service van. It was not cheap as I could have purchased something similar for less, but after hours service and having him install the unit and get it setup and working in short order was well worth the money.
Nick had to replace the control unit near the furnace and go out side in single digit temps to replace the temperature sensor on the heat pump in addition to the thermostat itself.
I am pretty handy when it comes to doing things myself, but getting Standard Heating and Air to fix the heating system on a very cold night, was a bargain and something I would have taken 4 to 5 times longer to do, since I had no clue what to check and replace.
I do have an annual service contract with them to perform routine check ups and maintenance, This did provide me with a half price service call charge in addition to a great discount on the replacement thermostat.
I would recommend Standard Heating and Air to anyone.

Before we installed this new Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump in a spare room, we had chosen Standard twice before to install heat pumps in our main house. While we thought there would be some advantage of going with the same supplier but nevertheless sought other bids. Their pricing was competitive, so we went with Standard again. And they were just as wonderful as they had been before. We really like this company. They're honest, professional, and friendly.

The first repairman wanted me to run the heat which would melt the ice quickly. Of course, he wanted me to install a larger PVC pipe , at approx. $60.00, to handle the melting ice. I decided on the cheaper method, turning on the fan on the furnace. The second repair guy told me he does not suggest the heat method because of the mess it makes, even with the larger PVC pipe. The second guy was extremely knowledgeable and honest. He filled the unit with freon and it is now working fine. I do have a service contract with Standard heating and air conditioning and have been satisfied with their service.

Service man was friendly. Answered all questions and completed the work in a timely manner. They called me when they were on the way which was nice. We were having issues with the airflow to the main floor and he was able to fix this issue. Also serviced the furnace. Will use them again in the future

This all started when I upgraded my thermostat to the Nest learning thermostat. After a couple weeks I noticed the my heating system was not keeping up. I was able to get an appointment with Standard Heating and Air within 2 days (which is fast around here) despite the fact we live outside their local area. After explaining my situation to the technician, he called Nest and was able to decipher the technical jargon that I was unable to when I called Nest. While troubleshooting my situation, he found that the wiring at the furnace for the thermostat was incorrectly installed to begin with. I was very happy that he was able to explain everything in a way that I could understand while he was working. He also saw my humidifier filter was clogged and replaced that while he was at it. Overall, he was very nice, professional, and thorough. I highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

The initial call was handled and everything went as discussed, no issues. Pricing was $87 for service call and not sure how much time? I would hope at least a bit of time. The sensor was $110 and he connected two wires. I have sense price checked similar relays at $35 I guess the balance was labor. I would like for them to break out their cost, but it is not my business. Repairs are tricky because you do not know what to price or compare. My feeling is that Standard is above average in all areas except transparency in pricing.

The installer was prompt, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. It took from 8am-3:30pm including an electrical inspection by an electrician as part of the permit for the furnace. I would definitely recommend this company. Also their price was 40% lower than the quote from Aksarben.
