Joe Dougherty cannot be trusted, and you do not want to hire him for any home repairs. He initially estimated a job to replace my gutters and downspouts, rotted facia and soffits, and any rotted siding throughout the house. His crew replaced less than half of the rotted facia, only one piece of soffit, and no siding. They began work weeks late, without giving me updates on when they would arrive. To replace the one piece of soffit, they damaged a bush in my yard beyond repair when they could have simply ran a scaffold over the bush and not ruined my landscaping. When Joe's CSR sent me the bill I was appalled and ask him how he expected me to pay for a job that was not even 50% complete. He became defensive, saying he hadn't estimated to replace siding, until I asked him to read his own estimate. Once he did, he acknowledged his team had not replaced the siding. I asked him to correct the problem. He committed to finishing the facia and soffits his crew had missed, and eliminated the cost on siding. However, he missed his scheduled work date with no update and painting needed to happen, so I told him not to come back, but I didn't feel it was fair to charge me for incomplete work. He demanded the payment we agreed upon, less siding, even though he did not finish the soffit he promised to complete. With a company that is so dishonest and unethically managed, you cannot trust Solid Roofing & Exterior to work for you.
