Would NOT recommend Skradski to anyone. We've had nothing but issues with them, their service, and their products. We had an old HVAC system before we decided to replace it. The AC wasn't keeping up very well in the summer and we wanted to replace the entire system before it went out. We got a few bids and decided to use Skradski. The first issue we had was that they did not show up on the date scheduled. We called them and they told us that they didn't have us scheduled at all, even though I had an email with the date and time. They then told us that they wouldn't be able to get us in for a few weeks. After talking with them more, they finally fit us in the following week or two weeks later (I can't recall the exact timeframe). Once they showed up, and got most of the install done, we realized they installed the wrong AC unit. They installed a 13 seer when we ordered and paid for a 16 seer. They tried to convince us to keep the 13 so they wouldn't have to redo it and come back. We told them that wasn't acceptable and we wanted the 16. They came back (again, can't recall the exact timeframe it took them to return), and installed the 16. We noticed that the temperature on our main floor wasn't staying cool. We called them back out and they turned up the blower on the furnace. We also pointed out to them quite a few spots where the cold air was leaking from the duct. We had to have them come back and seal those. They told us that any unit would only cool 10-15 degrees cooler than the outdoor temperature, which we know to be a complete lie. This is Nebraska, where it's normal for most of the summer to be around 100. People would not be okay with their indoor temperatures being 85-90! We never were satisfied with the temperature of our main floor but thought we would give it some time to adjust and acclimate. Fast forward to the following summer (current 2021 summer), and our main level is around 85 degrees when we get home every day at 5-5:30 pm. We called them again and told them that the unit isn't keeping up. In fact, our OLD unit prior to this did a better job, and it was rated at an 8 seer.... They sent someone out today to look at it and see what was going on. The tech started working on stuff without even talking to me. Then he came inside and told me that the visit today would be $200+. No one had told me there would be a fee for the visit. I definitely did not think there would be a charge since we've never been happy with the unit and they should be very aware of this as we had called multiple times last summer after the install. I told the tech to stop working until I spoke with my husband. I called my husband and then called the Skradski office and explained to them what was going on. While I was on hold with them, the tech brought up our filter and told me it was dirty. I explained to him that the unit has never been able to keep the house cool. He then said that we need to be better with the maintenance of the system. What he doesn't know is that we do regularly rinse down the unit outside to clear it of any debris, especially cotton in our neighborhood. Also, the filter in the furnace, while dirty, wasn't anything extreme or outside of the norm. I then explained that we had issues with them ever since we had the unit installed, to which he responds, "No, that's not true, we came out and fixed a leak last year.". Yes, they did, a leak that happened immediately after they installed it, and that they told us was the error of their install tech. I then asked him to leave as I was not going to accept that he was placing the blame on us and not accepting responsibility. I later received a call from the office and they explained that they would still be charging us a fee of $92 just for the tech coming out. This company is awful and we will NEVER use them again, and certainly never recommend them to anyone. We are slow to place a review on any business, especially local ones, but we would like to save anyone in the Omaha area from using this company. *See the attached photo showing a text message I received around 8:15pm from the tech that came out on 6/16/21. This was a text he sent to my personal cell phone, and I'm assuming it was sent from his own cell phone. Even if our unit and filter were extremely dirty, which they were not, this message was completely uncalled for, disrespectful, and very unprofessional.*
