We rented a house from Shawn Ilg. We gave a $3000 dollar deposit for the house with a monthly rent of $2500. Shawn and his wife were living in the house at the time. When we moved in, we found garbage both inside and out of the house. The refrigerators were disgusting and there was mold growing everywhere. After the first rain, we found out why there was mold in the house. The house was leaking everywhere. We soon had to rent a dumpster to dispose of all the garbage left behind and proceeded to change toilet seats and fix the house up as best we could. Upon leaving, we had the carpets professionally cleaned, and the house was much better than when we moved in. Three months and many phone calls and emails later, we got back $2500 of the $3000 deposit we were owed. Shawn truly defines the term "slumlord". Even his contractor who came over to "fix" the house called him a "slumlord" which leads me to believe, I will never see the $500 remaining deposit. RENTER BEWARE!!!!!!
