About us

Founded in 1969, Sid Meridith and Lois Meridith began Security Equipment Inc. as a family enterprise. "I had no employees and no customers," he said. Things have certainly changed as the company now services over 14,000 residential and commercial accounts. SEi has over 125 employees with numerous years of experience and technical expertise and has opened full-service offices in Lincoln, Des Moines and Kansas City. SEi's belief in prompt, efficient service and concern for our customers' complete satisfaction has helped bring true peace of mind to thousands of homeowners and business people for over 40 years.

At SEi, we sell, install, maintain and monitor a variety of security systems including Burglary and Hold-up alarms, Closed Circuit Television Surveillance (CCTV) systems, Fire and Smoke alarms, Sprinkler and Water-flow supervision and Access Control systems for any size business or home. We provide a wide variety of quality products and services and our highly trained service technicians are some of the best in the industry. SEi operates a UL Central Station for all your monitoring needs.
