This was the 2nd job I had this contractor do for me. Last summer I had them replace an a/c and furnace at my residence. I liked their work and the fact that since they are a small company, their overhead is not as high as the big companies in Omaha. They underbid the competitors by about $1000, which is music to my ears. They showed up on time 2 days before the install to measure for the necessary ductwork modifications and 2 days later, they were also on time and finished the work in a single 'long' day. It took from 8:30 AM until after 6 PM to get everything done. If I ever need more A/C work, I'll be calling them.

All the attic ducting was badly deteriorated, I decided to replace it prior to adding more insulation to the attic. Jerry replaced it with modern ducting that doubled the R factor, from R4 on the old stuff to R8 on the new ductwork. a total of 9 runs of ductwork. Job was done very professionally, on time and on budget. The new system looks great! Would highly recommend this company for any of your heating or cooling needs. I prefer to contract with small local businesses, and Jerry definitely has one of the best ones around here. I will be contacting him when it's time to replace my furnace and air conditioner.

Wonderful. Heater works perfect. They were on time to their scheduled appointment. Very knowledgeable. Didn't try to sell maintenance packages or other unnecessary stuff. Price was very reasonable. I will use them again.

It went very good. We have had the technician, Tyler Brown, do our yearly ac/and furnace check ups for about 7 years
or so. The price charged today was for the air conditioner and the next furnace check up. We do not pay again until next summer checkup. Tyler is a very pleasant young man who does excellent service work. Has never tried to sell us something we do not need. Had one repair (in the 13 years we have owned our system) and it was around $30.00.
Today we were given a carbon monoxide detector without charge. We feel confident in his work.

We were without heat all night but thankfully we have a gas fireplace that kept the house bearable that night. Called sandhills first thing in the AM, left a message and they returned the call withing 30min. Jerry was here an hour after that. Diagnosed and fixed the problem within an hour and we were good to go. I think they did a good job and would hire them again.

On the days when the temperature hit 80 degrees (in March, no less), we discovered that the A/C came on but the air was not cold. They came the next day, just at the time they said that they would be here. They asked me to put a towel or rug at the door so they would not track in mud (it was raining). They inspected the A/C unit first, then the furnace, they replaced the fuse in the furnace. Then they checked the wires to the thermostat and discovered that the thermostat was dead. They replaced that, too and were done in about an hour. They were courteous, efficient and professional. I was impressed.

Our air conditioner continued to run but would never reach the desired temperature. I used Angie's List to find an air conditioning company and have never been happier! The service man was extremely polite, he explained everything, and gave us tips on how to help our air conditioner run more efficiently. I will definitely call this company back if we have problems again!

Jerry showed up at the scheduled time of 11 AM and was as professional as ever! He quickly identified the problem and gave me a verbal estimate of $500 to $600. I gave the okay and Jerry said one of his techs complete the job. The tech was working another job but would stop by when he finished. Three and a half hours later I called their office to make sure somebody was still coming out. The rep had to check with the tech to find out when he would make it out to my house and would call me back. About 40 minutes later, they called and told me the tech was on his way. About 20 minutes later he showed up and started work -- it was now after 4 PM and the job was completed just after 6 PM. Final cost was $835. Thankfully they gave me a $135 discount.
I've used Sandhills for several years now and I will probably continue to do so. I don't think you could ever go wrong with Jerry and his crew.

Found this company on this site and thought that I would give them a go. I needed an HVAC professional to vent an exhaust fan with insulated piping that I had an electrician install in my bathroom (thanks to a terrible, terrible design--thanks Sherwood Homes!). When calling for the estimate, the office personnel were friendly and prompt. Jerry called back soon after to get everything set up for an estimate. After arriving, Jerry gave me a fair estimate and we set up a time/day for the work to be done. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. After Jerry's assistant put too much caulking on the outside of the vent, Jerry went up the ladder to check it out. It didn't meet his expectation so he replaced it without me saying a word (I am very picky). He wanted the job done right, which I completely respect. To quote Mike Holmes, he "...made it right!" I will use Sandhills to check out my HVAC on a yearly service call now due to this very positive service call, their great service, fair pricing and workmanship.

This is a great company. I feel very comfortable letting them in my house. Sandy is always polite on the phone, and the tech we've had, Ben, is very friendly. We've done the service plan twice, and we've been very happy with it. We did have a problem one time a few weeks after they had been out, and they came right back out and fixed our heater again, no questions asked, no charge. They really are a great company!

Called late in the day because AC was out on a hot July day. Someone showed up by 5 and replaced freon. Very quick service. They found the coil was leaking and needed to be replaced. Although they did not install the AC unit, they found out it was under warranty and ordered the new coil. They installed it, charging only labor. Overall, excellent service. Price is hard to gauge because companies use different ways of determining labor costs.

They showed up right on time and stayed until the work was complete. They took care to respect our beige carpet and cleaned up after themselves. They followed up with a call to make sure we we were satisfied. AMAZING customer service. The only complaint I would have is that they were a little upset when I told them we were paying with 2 credit cards. I guess they're supposed to ask that up front and didn't...because they charge you a little more then for their CC processing fees. However - being as it was their mistake - they kept with the quoted price and didn't charge me the extra.

Overall, I was very pleased. I only got two bids as I was in the hottest part of summer and my external unit needed to be replaced and the work needed to be done quickly. But Sandhill's bid easily beat the other bid on price. I appreciated the straight-forward, honest, no-nonsense dealing with the owner. The work commenced quickly and was done professionally. Initial quality of the unit is great. I liked the fact that Sandhills is a relatively small operation (in my case, the owner also completed the installation) that has been in business for many years and has a proven track record.

He arrived at 945 and said had to turn the unit off as there was some icing over, he wanted to let the ice melt and then come back to look at it. So he came back 5 hours later, working around my schedule as well, and was very informative about what was wrong what caused the problem and what the best type of filters to get. The only minor hiccup was when I called about the service I told them to call me for directions (as I live out in the country), and he didn't and got lost and made him late but the service, helpfulness and willingness to let me know what was wrong and how to prevent it from happening again far outweighed the little hiccup.
