Do not use this company if you have an in ground sprinkler system. They have no integrity and will damage it. It does not matter if you flag each sprinkler head, they will still hit your lines. After being in business so long you would think they could install a fence without damaging existing property. The company also is aware I am unhappy and agreed to remedy the issue, but then immediately ghosted me and had been radio silent on solutions. I paid in full prior to the service to receive a 5% discount and regret doing so because they have their money and my unhappiness does not matter cause they got paid already.

Please read to save yourself thousands of dollars and months of your life. I'm not one to typically write a review for every little inconvenience in life, but with what I have dealt with, this unfortunately necessitated a review. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. The amount of negligence I have had to endure with this company is absurd. Our neighbors and I had them install fences in our backyard and had the contracts signed back in June for them to be installed. I understand they are busy and definitely did not expect them to install a fence immediately afterwards (the salesperson was actually very transparent with about how long it would be until they could start). The project started in early August when the fence posts were placed. After the posts were set, workers came back to install the actual fencing about a week or so later. Seems normal so far right? Only problem is-THEY DIDNT FENCE THE ENTIRE PROPERTY AS OUTLINED IN THEIR CONTRACT. They left 35 feet wide open without fencing. I figured this was something they were aware of and that they would be back in a day or so to finish the job. Wrong. WEEKS went by before I had to call them and ask what the delay was. I'm glad I did. THEY HAD NO IDEA IT WASNT FINISHED. Apparently it was marked "complete" on their end and they were actually never going to come back out until I called them to tell them they left a huge opening in the back. So a month after the first part of the fence was put up , the fence is finally finished BUT NOW THE LAST PORTION DOESNT EVEN LINE UP WITH THE REST OF THE FENCING (which is ironic that I was charged hundreds for a legal survey for property lines too). I had to call them AGAIN to ask why this was the case and had someone come out to look. They didn't have an answer. Told me they would have to have someone else come out and look. THAT WAS OVER THREE WEEKS AGO. It is now the end of October and I have had to call YET AGAIN asking what the status is. Was told again they will have to come out and look, but haven't had the time to yet. All while I've seen S&W trucks all around the neighborhood installing other fences down the street. Yet they can't seem to spend 15 minutes to have someone come back and give me an answer. This truly is one of the worst experiences I have encountered and absolutely under no circumstances would I ever use S&W fence ever again. I hope for whoever reads this that you go with literally any other company (American, Quality, etc.) and avoid the ridiculous amount of time and money it has cost me.

I contacted S&W last month. They promptly sent an estimator out to my home and provided a very timely quote for a fence install. At the time of the install I was told with good weather it would be around 7 weeks. So about 4.5 weeks in I call the main office (where I took my money to pay) and they told me they could not possibly provide any details at all about the progress of my order. I was told to call my estimator. I did that, left a voicemail and sent an email. He declined to respond for an entire day and didn’t make contact until I asked for a refund. At that time he informed me that he was away from his phone for the past 24 hours and we were 6 weeks out still. Mind you we’ve had prime fence building weather and no one bothered to inform us that in almost 5 weeks we haven’t moved up the list at all. I felt this was a breach of contract due to the non existent communication and extreme delay so a refund seemed reasonable. He then informed me that I would be subject to a heavy penalty if I backed out. As a consumer I am concerned why the business needs not worry about the agreement but the client is completely vulnerable. This is the business equivalent of the movie Saw at this point, minus the tricycle but emphasis on the clown. They cannot answer basic questions and getting ahold of someone helpful is still a mystery, yet I’m subject to a $400 penalty based solely on their incompetence. I’ve never been less impressed with an establishment in my life. Their operational organization is cartoonish at best.

They bid the job and set a date to remove the old fencing. However they neglected to convey that they would not be able to install the new fence for 7 to 10 days after the old fence was removed, due to a large backlog. Therefore arrangements had to be made for the family dogs. Better communication would have been appreciated. That being given said, materials, workmanship, and construction were excellent.

Our fence was constructed abd problems became evident upon installation. On May 5th, 2017 the poles were set by S&W fence company. First off the poles are all measured at different spots all poles are spaced differently. The fence posts area all crooked all the way around our yard. Since the fence posts are not straight and they are crooked-- Corners of fences do not lay flush with poles. We have 2 inch to 3 inch gaps between boards and fence posts. We demanded this be fixed and S&W. Their suggestions for repair was that our yard is not centered and they would use longer nails and come out and pound those in to boards and poles. Not the suggestion that is going to fix the problem. The boards nailed to the posts still have a 2 inch to 3 inch gap between boards and poles.(boards do not lay flush on poles) If they would have measured poles right, the corners would have matched up and boards would have been flush with pole. My fence that they tore down all boards and poles were flush when put together. Also, they nailed the neighbors fence to the back of my brand new fence. How does the neighbors fence go from being in his yard, to nailed to the back of my fence?? S&W said that when we installed our fence the neighbors fence didn't match up with our fence so they just nailed it to the back of my fence. Funny...the neighbors fence wasn't ever nailed to my fence before they constructed and measured and installed our the new fence. Bottom of fence is anywhere from 3 inches to 8-10 inches in spots from ground. Huge gaps under fence and animals get in and out of my yard. I just paid for a $5,000 fence and I cannot let my animals out in the yard because they will get out under the fence. S&W Fence suggestions for repair was to put dirt under the fence. So now every time it rains, the dirt washes away and big mud piles in my yard. S&W Fence advised me that the fence would settle and this problem would be gone. I don't think a fence is supposed to settle is it? Isn't it set in concrete so it shouldn't settle? Fence gate is warped and numerous boards either split and broken. When fence was installed they did not set some of the poles in concrete. We demanded that concrete be filled in holes up to poles. They only set concrete in the poles that did not have concrete in them and our ground was caving in all around the poles. Other poles that were lucky enough to get concrete poured into the holes, the concrete is anywhere from 4" to 8" down deep in the ground. S&W Fence pieced together parts of our fence with small 3"-4" blocks of wood. They said the 2x10 wood boards were not long enough to reach the next post so this is where they nailed in the wood blocks-- Isn't that a spacing problem? Every other fence company has boards that run pole to pole right? S&W Fence had to "special order" specific sized boards to run pole to pole. If they would have spaced the poles correctly, you wouldn't have had to piece the fence together. All around the yard some of the fence sections do not match up so rather than use boards all the same size, they pieced boards together to make the fence even up. One latch on gate faces up and the other latch faces down. We recently had storm damage and S&W Fence is blaming the storm on all the faults in our fence. Needless to say, but I took video and pictures of the fence before, during and after construction and also have pictures of storm damage to our fence. Actually, after the storm the parts of our fence that were damaged, it became even more visibly clearer on a lot of the construction errors. I will never recommend S&W Fence to anyone. S&W Fence agreed to repair what THEY wanted to repair, but refused to repair anything that was a very apparent screw up on their behalf and obviously would have been costly to S&W Fence. The customer satisfaction was not their concern. We live in a medium range $$ housing addition. Just south of us is a very expensive housing addition. This sort of craftsmanship would have not been acceptable in that neighborhood. The General Mgr. said all along that my husband and I both agreed to all repairs and everything they did was agreed upon by all. I am sorry, but I agreed to NOTHING!!! They repaired all that they had messed up from the beginning of installation. Errors that were very apparent and had to repair. Of course he is gonna say this, he has a job he is trying to save. He is not going to admit to his boss what a poor job that was done. Why would I pay someone $5,000 to do a job that is unacceptable?? That is a lot of money to just throw away. I agreed to what was very apparent and screwed up upon installation. They wouldn't fix anything I had asked them to fix. I was VERY ADAMANT about how unhappy I was with the fence in general. The GM was very aware how disappointed we were about the whole job. Very disappointed in a company that does not care what they produce, just throw it up and get paid for it. I now have to pay another fence company (NOT S&W) to repair my brand new fence that S&W Fence installed. Would not ever recommend again to anyone.

They put in the posts on Friday, 8/25/17 and when they weren't out to put the fence in on Tuesday I called to ask when they would be. I was told that they had 7-12 business days to complete the job so I should expect them out at the end of next week. When I expressed my surprise I was told that it was in the contract and i signed it. My fault but I am not happy. When they did show up to build the fence they installed two gates one of which has about a 1 inch gap between the gate closing hardware and the fence post it closes on that is about 18 long. If they had simply installed longer 2x4s it would have been better. Not the experience I thought I'd get.

Used inferior materials and work was substandard in several areas; and, cleanup was less than satisfactory. After repeated requests and delays, they returned twice to supposedly remedy or replace the defective items but never did correct some of them. Owner did later send letter after we complained about the still unfinished corrective measures stating that they felt work met their standards. Would not use again.

The timing and installation went almost exactly as promised. The only problem was a minor adjustment that was needed post installation. It took many phone calls and 3 weeks to get the company back to make this adjustment. They were pleasant about it, though, and did make the adjustment without any balking at all, so the communication was the only real problem.

It went okay except they damaged the turf on my property, left a lot of wooden pieces and trash on my property, damaged my gate post. I tried calling them and no response.

Fantastic! They use a different business for this kind of repair - Tom and Ron's Repair. Just perfect. Ron contacted me, went out one day, gave me an estimate and then one day I came hope to a repaired gate.

Paid the contract upfront for a discount. Did not place the dirt where instructed.  Dirt was placed on grass. A few minor issues about the construction of the fence and fence placement did not go as initially discussed and directed per the contract.  Although in the end they placed less fence I was never offered a refund of the difference.  I am very sure they would not have "added" fence for free. Overall quality of the fence is poor at best. Most of the pickets have chips, worm holes and grooves, and just overall are poor cuts of wood.  Five pickets were completely split or broke off at the bottom and a followup call after installation resulted in these pickets being replaced. Follow up to those pickets being replaced show even greater subpar work.  A picket replaced on the "gate" has multiple nails driven in the board that obviously bent half way in so they were nailed bent over.  Subsequent follow up phone call first thing on Monday morning with no return call.

Initial fence installation left scrapes of wood and trash all over my yard and driveway.  Several 2x4 sections of approximately 8-10 inches left laying in the driveway with other debris. No followup after installation.  Very slow to return calls.  Lots of excuses as to how busy they are with new customers.  New customers come before an existing customer.

I would not recommend nor use them again. Good money does not equate to a quality fence.

We had the worst experience with this company on multiple issues. We contacted the company in September to get a quote/discuss what was needed. Didn't receive a contract with plans until late October. Should have realized at that point to give up, but we were told the salesperson for our area had left the company. Contract and half of cost returned at end of October.
Contract said the company would be responsible for obtaining permits, setting up utility marking, and arranging surveyor. Posts were installed just before Thanksgiving, but done incorrectly. They did not pull permits and didn't know city guidelines of where a six foot fence could be placed. Nothing like coming home to a stop-work order due to no permit obtained. Posts that were incorrectly placed were cut off rather than dug up and holes filled. New posts placed beginning of December. Waited for >3 weeks for panels to be placed. Multiple calls to company and nobody could tell me when work would be done. When panels finally placed (after hour+ conversation with manager Steve), they were incredibly high off the ground. What's the point of buying a six foot fence if my dog (or I, if I chose) could crawl underneath? Two separate trips to lower the fence and weeks later finally had functioning fence. Never did get the double gate that was written in the original contract.
Billed for original length of fence rather than what was actually installed (difference of >30 feet) and two gates that could not be installed, incorrect surveyor fee (we're not in Council Bluffs). To fix this, had to threaten lawsuit and speak directly with the owner.
Springtime came, found out our sprinkler system had been hit by surveyor stake. They fixed this within a day of calling, miraculously!

The workmanship of Sand W Fence was HORRIBLE! The section of the fence they replaced was not what I had expected. At my insistence they had to come back and repair the gate within two of weeks of the repair. The boards were cut unevenly - not secured properly, etc. I withheld part of the payment until they returned to correct all of the poor workmanship. That process took almost two months.
It is April 2014 - almost a year since they were here working. The fence that they repaired was poorly done from the beginning. Instead of taking out posts and putting in new ones, they simply slapped in some shorter posts to secure the fence sections. They even used a piece of wood that I had used to temporary hold the fence. I just came in from some spring clean up - and discovered they had only NAILED these make-shift posts into place. With the high winds we have been experiencing these newly installed posts have come completely away from the fence itself. I am not a handy -woman - -but even I would have thought of using screws instead of nails.
I had gotten several estimates before starting this project. Sand W was in the middle of estimates - but they had installed our fence originally when we built the house - and I had been pleased then. Well........obviously the company must have changed hands - because the quality of this repair and installation was NOTHING compared to my original experience.
I would NEVER recommend Sand W fence and I plan to put alter the Sand W sign they affixed to my new fence to read - Poor Quality Fence by Sand W.
