We received a new faucet from Kohler and called Raven Plumbing on April 3 to install it. They said they could not come out the 4th but would be out the 5th. After not hearing from them, I called on the 5th and they said they could not come out but could the 8th or 9th. I never heard back until April 17. When I asked why, Kandra said her husband's brother had died.
The appointment on April 18 was between 8:30 - 9:00. Their plumber arrived at 9:00 and was finished installing the faucet, strainer and shut off at 11:05 which included a long absence when he went to his truck to get a bucket.. An additional half hour was spent asking him various plumbing questions. So total time spent, not including time in his truck to write out the bill, was 2.5 hours. Total cost of parts was $32 and labor was $384. When asked if they had an increase in their hourly rate, I was told it was now $96/hour. But my bill calculates out to $153.60/hour.
When he left we found that he had the hot and cold reversed. This was a one handle faucet and the cold should be at the front. I called and talked to Kandra. I told her we were overcharged on labor and that the faucet was not properly installed. She argued the time he arrived and left but this was based on what he reported to her. I called Raven multiple times the next day and left a message but no one answered the phone. Then I called the emergency number and talked to Terry Matthews, the owner. He said he would look over the bill and call me back. He defended how the plumber installed the faucet by explaining that in Vietnam they install the hot in the front. I told him that Raven installed the same faucet on my veggie sink a few years ago and that it was done properly. And as to why his wife never answered the phone or called me back, he said she was visiting a friend in the hospital. I never received a call back.
The following week I had my husband call from work where the caller ID would not identify him. This time she answered the phone. She justified the $384 and added that the plumber had to pick up the strainer. So my husband called Terry Matthews who also argued the time although neither he nor his wife were there to know when the plumber arrived and left.
We have used Raven Plumbing in the past and never had these problems with scheduling or overcharging. We don't know what has caused this jump in price and misrepresentation of the time but $384 to install a faucet and simple turnoff and strainer???

They were very courteous, trustworthy, and professional. I just like the way they do business, and I've never had any issues. It's a pretty big deal to me to have the feeling that someone simply does an honest job and isn't trying to get the most money out of you. I definitely feel that way with Raven Plumbing. It's also nice to simply know I can call them, have them do good work, and then not have to mess around with multiple bids and waste all that time. I call, make an appointment, they show up on time, do great work, and we're done.

I worked with them a couple of times in the last year, and I am happy with them. I don't know if I have enough information to compare their prices to others. I would use them again in the future; I guess I would pretty much go to them for any of my plumbing needs.

The new drain lines backed up when they were first used, flooding the basement and damaging carpet, walls, wood trim, etc. Terry (the owner) said it must have been someone else's fault. After much discussion, Terry agreed to take reduced pay for the job, then put a lien on my house for non-payment.

Raven Plumbing was able to show up and fix the leak under our sink on the same day that we called them. It only took them about an hour and the sink hasn't leaked since they fixed it. Also, the plumber was really nice and he cleaned up all of his mess.
