PRETTY PUPPY DOG SALON

I didn't feel that the facility was as clean as I had anticipated it would be but given the fact that I failed to do a visit prior to my leaving town I knew I'd have to deal with that. I asked that they be placed in their kennels at night and I furnished the kennels.  I was told at the end of their stay that they were not kenneled at night but that they were left in the lower level and "were waiting at the top of the stairs each morning".  I have no idea how many other dogs they were able to run with during the night time and overnight hours.  I phoned and left voice mail messages as well as email messages to check on my dogs.  None of my calls were ever returned.  I finally had my son call to check on them.  When I returned to pick up Kali and Lily the only thing that the owner mentioned was that Kali would never go to her.  She indicated that she never chased Kali so they just kept their distance from one another.  After I returned from my trip and departed from Pretty Puppy I discovered that Lily's eye was almost totally mattered shut and what little I could see of the actual eye was an angry red.  The owner at Pretty Puppy had indicated that there were no problems and everything was totally fine.  The eye problem was not mentioned. Needless to say, I made a trip to the vet before I even took the dogs home.  The diagnoses was "pink eye".  I believe that as a boarder she should have noticed that there was a problem.  Her eye looked so bad that I thought that it had been injured with a sharp object of some sort.   Needless to say I was very relieved to discover it was only pink eye.  I have no idea how long she had had it before I returned from my trip.  I will choose another boarder in the future.
