Dr. Jana spent over an hour talking with me about my past surgeries and the knee replacement I would possibly need in the future. He was my surgeon for a left hip replacement in August of 2012 which went very well. He was also my surgeon when I broke the right hip and right femur on a fall only four months later in December 2012. In all of my dealings with Dr. Jana and his staff, they were more than helpful and honest with me. I would recommend Dr. Jana to any one needing a good orthopedic doctor for knees and hips. He is one of the best in all of Omaha. Not only is he a capable surgeon, he is very personable and cares for you as a patient. When I told him that he was not covered by my insurance any more, he offered to give me names of other doctors who he would recommend. This shows that he is most interested in his patient's well-being and not only his own practice. How many surgeons will spend more than an hour talking with you about your needs during one visit? Dr. Jana will spend that kind of time with you and answer all your questions.

His PA is who I have seen the last couple of times. His treatment is exceptional. His explaining, it was for my knee and his explaining exactly what is going on and very, very good at answering questions. The last two times I saw his PA who is the one who really did most of it.

It went better that I anticipated. I knew he had a strong reputation, and from the start that proved to be the case. I felt confident that this was the course action I needed to take. Surgery was scheduled and later performed. I was ahead of the curve on recovery and rehab. The PT was amazed at how quickly I was making progress and attributed that to a degree to Dr, Jana's surgical techniques and skills. I will highly recommend him to all.

My left hip replacement surgery on July 31, 2012, was very successful and I was home with almost no restrictions in two days. My recuperation was fast and I had almost no pain from the onset after surgery. When I suffered a horrible fall on Dec. 5, 2012, I knew immediately that I wanted Dr. Jana to work on my other hip which I broke. Even though he was not on call Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, he took the call from Methodist emergency room around 2:00 in the morning. He met with me before his regular surgery schedule around 6:30 or 7:00 a.m Wednesday morning. He assured me he would fit me in as soon as possible. By 11:30 that morning I was being prepped for surgery. He took extra precautions with me because I had bone graphing done over 35 years earlier on that right leg. Thus he could not use the normal long rod he normally used on most patients with the same break I had suffered. He took the time after the surgery to draw pictures showing me exactly what was done. He was empathic and extremely efficient in his care for me. I will go back for a two week follow up this Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012. I am extremely satisfied with the work Dr. Jana has done and recommend him to friends and anyone needing work done on their hips. His compassion and skillfulness is exactly what a patient wants from their surgeon.
