I got estimates from three different companies and the pricing was close, but the service from the owner of OHana Wood Floors, Eric, was much more personal than any of the other companies and it was clear to me he takes great pride in his work, which is why he quite the big company for whom he worked and started his own company. This is a smaller and newer company, and I was impressed with them from the first phone call to the last "thank you." I am very particular, and have absolutely no complaints with the service or quality of their work. Our new wood floors look fantastic and everyone who has seen them has commented on the quality of the work--especially those who have had work done by other companies. Eric worked with me until we were completely satisfied with the color, was willing to move some furniture (additional cost for some of it) for us and worked with me on every special request. They were prompt, paid attention to details and produced a wood floor that makes me smile.

We recently had our hardwood floors were refinished by another local company with unsatisfactory results. There was excessive debris in the finish and the other company was not providing resolution to our issues. Ohana floors was recommended to us and we gave Erik a call to inspect our floors and determine if they could be fixed. Erik provided a quote to sand and refinish our floors very quickly after we met. We also obtained a quote from a second local company and the quote from Ohana was very reasonable in comparison. We decided to use Ohana to refinish the floors based on the recommendation we received and our experience with Erik in the quote process. Ohana was able to schedule our work to be completed within a week of us indicating we would like the work performed. Erik communicated with us during the entire process. He sent instructions before the work was complete to help us prepare our home for the best results and also followed up after the work was complete to ensure we were satisfied with the results. We are very happy with the quality of the work and the communication throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Ohana floors to anyone needing this type of work completed. Erik went above and beyond to ensure the process was stress free for us and we are very happy with our floors.

These guys worked quickly, and my floors look excellent. Even though they sanded two bedrooms, a hallway, kitchen, and a living room there was very little dust to be swept up thanks to their powerful vacuum. I will definitely keep them in mind for my next house.

We selected a flooring from an area wholesaler (Intermountain Wood Products) - the floor had to be purchased through a dealer but I was able to get a pretty good idea of what the flooring we selected cost was at wholesale. They gave us names of several dealers which included Ohana. I am a small business owner and I liked the fact these guys were just getting started (they had worked with one of the major companies in the area for several years) and I wanted to give them a shot. We started talking in September of 2014 and after a few months of working on pricing and installation logistics, we finally signed a contract with them in January 2015. They ordered the flooring and it was delivered in a couple of weeks (during that time I did much of the old floor demolition myself). Wood floors have to acclimate for a while before installation, so the installation / final demolition was started about ten days later. It took them a day and a half to finish getting out our old tile floor (about 450 sft) and the cement board underneath (which was much better than I was doing on my own). Once the subfloor was all ready for the flooring they came in and had most (over 800 sft) of the flooring down in three days and then needed on final day to complete trim and details.
These guys are CRAFTSMEN - they pay close attention to detail and take real pride in what they do. They were VERY communicative throughout the process (mostly dealt with Erik but all three were great). The end result was STUNNING! They were kind enough to lend us a floor protector so we could move our appliances back in the kitchen. They had some minor follow up work on our stairs (waiting on a piece of additional nosing to come in) and Erik came out as soon as it came in and finished the install keeping us up to date on the expected delivery and install time throughout the wait).
You can't go wrong with these guys. We selected a pretty expensive solid hardwood floor and their price for the flooring inclusive of installation was just about wholesale cost plus $3.00 psf. The lowest cost for installation I have seen in the area was about $2.50 psf so I figured if they made 50 cents per foot on the wood floor that was likely much less than most companies would mark up the wholesale cost.
Bottom line - 100% endorse these guys.
