Muth did very well - journeyman work and good attitude. What really impressed me is that in 2004, I completely tore out the kitchen, including plumbing and electrical, in our 90+ year-old two-story craftsman house - clear down to rafters and stud walls. I had already rewired much of the house myself over the years (decades ago I did some significant electrical work) and wanted to replace ALL of the remaining knob-and-tube as well as older Romex. Most was in the kitchen, dining room and living room. Before starting on the kitchen, I called Muth, whom I had never used before, and asked someone to come over for a paid consultation - for some code issues I was not certain about - and to validate my overall plan. Todd V. came over and spent almost two hours talking - and listening (a rarity) - to me, making suggestions and answering questions about the electrical code. When I tried to write a check, he said he didn't need to be paid. Later, I had the rough inspection scheduled, but had fallen behind. I called Todd in the afternoon two days before the inspection and asked, with little hope, if I could borrow one of their electricians the next day to help me catch up. A journeyman came over the next day, was quite nice and helpful and quite efficiently did excellent work. (I am not always the easiest of graders. When I was younger, I spent 15+ years in the trades and I don't tolerate sloppy craftsmanship well.). Todd said to call him when the kitchen was done - he wanted to see it. So I did. He stayed and talked for most of an hour. (No charge, of course.) After that, I call Muth for anything electrical. Why argue with success. I do have one criticism though. For the attic rewire and the garage wiring, they got permits, but over a decade later the permits are still not closed. It appears that the final inspections never occurred! That is why I only gave them a B for professionalism. [The major house rewiring permit that I pulled myself is one of the few that ever got properly finalized. Since permits are public record and I recently found out where and how to search them, I have discovered that very few residential building permits in Omaha are ever actually closed - usually because the final inspections are never scheduled. I only discovered all this within the last week - when I was doing investigation related to an absolute nightmare of a roofing company that I made the mistake of hiring.]
