Quote came back about 10k less than Anderson Windows, which was no surprise (knew coming in that Anderson was expensive). If I was Marvin Windows and Doors, I would ask the Anderson guy to go out and quote every customer before I arrived just so the potential customer could compare and contrast.
Lead time to install was about 6-8 weeks, which seemed to come sooner than I expected. Installers were subcontractors but they were absolutely fantastic. Problem: I had 13 windows to replace and the sales dude only quoted 12. Not sure where "we're going to replace all the windows in the house" got lost in translation... but, COUNT THE WINDOWS ON THE INVOICE BEFORE YOU AGREE TO THE WORK. I know, dummy mistake. So, I went into the deal thinking I was saving 10k, but it ended up being closer to 8k.
The missing window was ordered immediately (as soon as it was discovered that it wasn't quoted) - showed up and was installed a month later.
Overall, extremely pleased with the fit and finish of the windows (which is the important part). I'm pretty laid back so I didn't get my panties in a bunch over the oversights (although I could see how someone on a tight budget or timeline might be extremely frustrated with waiting for a quote, or an oversight like forgetting to quote a window).
Would I do it again? Yea, I mean it's a solid 'B.' These windows look gorgeous - it's more than evident that they are not "cheap vinyl windows." My utility bill has already been substantially reduced... I'm convinced that the windows will pay for themselves in 10 years time. The windows will outlast the house. I could have lived without the delay in getting the quote, or the nearly 2,000 dollar oversight by not quoting one of my windows... but hey, they are human too, right?

Will not use Marvin again.

"Thank you for taking the time to write a review(Member name removed). It's good to hear about your experience and how it went through the process. We look forward to working with you again in the future. Sincerely, Jim Cole"
"Thanks for your response [member name removed]. I have nothing in our records indicating you purchased windows from our company. Did you maybe buy them through a contractor? Our sales process is always transparent and should never include any hidden pricing. Thanks for taking the time to respond and I hope to hear back from you. Sincerely, Jim Cole Manager"
"Thank you [member name removed] for taking time to express your disappointment and concern regarding your recent experience. I wanted to express my concern and never should you have experienced the lack of communication and service. I know Jerry Blake our installer was out on the 16th and made adjustments for your door. Please let me know if we have fixed everything and the door is working properly. Again thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. Sincerely, Jim Cole Manager"
"Thank you for providing feedback. Very unsettling to hear about your experience. The salesman involved has been addressed and we are evaluating his current role. Again thank you for your feedback."
Evidently the Marvin store subcontracts the storm door installation work. Our first indication was talking to the installer about how long he had been doing this work. He told us he was actually a deck installer and he was doing this for fill in work. When he left he cleaned up all the packing materials, and took them and the old doors away properly.
The doors came with both glass and screen inserts, and both were still in the doors when he left, held in place by retaining clips. We removed the glass inserts, since it was springtime, but the retaining clips wouldn't hold the screens in place. After modifying the plastic clips we got them to hold the screens in place, but they kept falling out. After a few days of this we contacted Marvin to ask about the problem.
The Store called us back a week later, discussed the problem, and eventually determined that the installer had left the shipping retainers in the doors, and thrown out the proper full-length retaining pieces. They ordered the retainers we needed for the doors. A few weeks later we were called that the clips were in and we could pick them up.
At the store we were told that only one set had come in and the second was still ordered. We took the set that came in, and went home to insert them. We tried to install them in the way the shipping inserts had been installed, but they didn't fit. We called the store again and left a message about the problem. We played "phone tag" with the store for a couple of weeks, finally bringing the new clips back to the store for a clearer explanation.
The store said they were the proper clips and would work, so we asked for an installer to come out to show us how they fit. We played phone tag with an installer from a lumber company, the subcontract company Marvin used, and a couple weeks later a supervisor met us at the house and showed us that the new clips fit a different way from the old clips, and that they worked fine. This final visit only took about 5 minutes, and verified we had the correct parts. The installer also brought the second set of clips that had been back ordered.
The screens and retaining clips now work properly, as of September - about 3 months after the original installation. It just seemed that after the sale and installation, the company didn't have a sense of urgency in resolving what turned out to be a simple issue.

Our experience from beginning to end met or exceeded our expectations We never felt pressured to close the deal. The personnel were friendly and courteous and were willing to answer all of our questions. The estimate was thorough and accurate. The installers had very little trouble installing the new door because the salesperson was very accurate in taking his measurements. The installers did an excellent job of fitting the door and matching the trim work on both the inside and outside. One piece of siding was found to be rotting and was replaced at no additional charge.
Overall, the experience was great from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend Marvin Window and Door to anyone looking for a quality door and a quality installation.
