LYMM Construction Inc. replaced my driveway and everything was fine for four years. Then the concrete began crumbling due to weak concrete, in my opinion, where the driveway approach meets the street. When Gary Soliday inspected the crumbling concrete, he blamed the crumbling concrete was due to snowplow damage and the salt applied to street. Then he denied that his recommendation was to extend the driveway approach into the street, rather grind down the curb, when the driveway was replaced originally by LYMM. There are no other driveways in my neighborhood that experience crumbling concrete, so in my opinion, the problem was not snowplow and salt damage, because these driveways were subject to the same snowplow and salt as my driveway. Gary Soliday provided a ridiculous high estimate to repair the damage, in my opinion trying to take advantage of this senior citizen. The driveway approach was replaced by another concrete contractor at less than half of LYMM/Gary Soliday’s estimate and the concrete used was much richer with more limestone and a dry mix, so it will be much stronger. When the driveway was originally replaced by LYMM, the concrete mix was quite watery where it met the street - this is where there was crumbling concrete. Concrete is much weaker when the water/cement ratio increases toward 0.8. In my opinion, that is why there was the crumbling concrete, not because of snowplow damage or salt. LYMM Construction Inc. cannot be recommended because the company will not stand behind their work when a problem appears. LYMM Construction Inc./Gary Soliday will not pay any claim, because of the statute of limitations, when it becomes necessary to make the repairs. You cannot trust Gary Holiday’s word, unless it is in writing. My recommendation is to seek estimates from other concrete construction companies, particularly if you are a senior citizen.

After having several and quot;patch-itand quot; companies come out and not have a good fix for our issues, we called Lymm. Gary spent an hour discussing our driveway problems (salt erosion, cracking, etc) and what they could do to fix it so it did not happen again. The guys showed up on time, finished a day early, cleaned up along the way, and the driveway looks amazing! I would definitely recommend, as well as use them again!

The concrete contractor extended our driveway and repaired some sideway areas. When we called for a quote, they were very punctual and showed-up with a very lengthy list of reference customers. Their guidance on the repairs was sound. Likewise, the installation was performed on the date specified and they did a nice job of prep work. More importantly, they cleaned-up their mess -- VERY COOL! The concrete has been down for about 19 months. There has been no cracking and it still looks great! Everything was great -- but the price was definitely a premium. We went with Lymm for outstanding quality and we got that. For smaller, less weight tolerant projects, I would probably go with a cheaper offering. However, for vehicle and tractor tolerant needs, Lymm installation is excellent.

I had gotten an estimate from him about 4 or 5 years ago but since we're small business owners we had to put the money that we were going to put into the driveway into the business. I knew I wanted to do business with him because of how honest he was on the first appraisal. He was straight forward. He gave me a very simple, totally inexpensive solution to my problem. They did a great job, it was just fantastic. The driveway is gorgeous. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and exactly at the time. They cleaned up. They called back to check to make sure that I was satisfied. They did a great job. They did a fantastic job all the way around.

Everything turned out beautifully. They were referred to us by a neighbor, and we were very happy with them. We were impressed with the fact that the driveway ended up being five inches of concrete over tie criss-cross re-bar. The resulting driveway is going to be more substantial than any other driveway we have ever seen. They were out within two weeks of submitting their estimate, and the entire project took less than 24 hours. They had a large crew, and each one knew exactly what his duties and responsibilities were. Everything was extremely well orchestrated, and they are a very hardworking and conscientious crew of people. They were very considerate about the fact that we were there while the work was going on. They were here even earlier than we had anticipated. The amount of dirt and concrete that they hauled away was staggering, and we expected to be charged much more for hauling it away. He has been in business for decades, and we will absolutely recommend him to others.
