Had Kyle come out and look at my landscaping needs after getting his name from neighbors on the Nextdoor app. They had said he was starting his business and trying to build it but he had worked in the neighborhood and they had thought he was ok. I had diagram of front and back yard already with measurements and told him hopefully that was okay. He said he wished all people were as prepared. I also had a list of plants that I thought were overused, plants I liked, and plants I wouldn't mind trying. I explained what I was wanting a bid on and he said he would get back to me in 1 -2 weeks. When I didn't hear from him after that time, I sent him and email. After a few days of no response, again I sent him an email. I then called him and voicemail said he would return the call within 24 hours. After another 24 hours I called once again and said that if he was still in business it would be appreciative if he could contact me, otherwise, I was going to make sure others on Nextdoor didn't make the same mistake and let them know they could look elsewhere. Sure enough, I got an email within 8 hours saying that he was just so overbooked for the REST of the year. REALLY?? The whole year got booked in 3 weeks. Amazing... Glad I didn't do business with a company that lies and clearly has no conscience. Why would a company waste time to come out to "bid" a project if so overbooked ---since we all know it didn't happen in 3 weeks.....it was to scope out the project and since I wasn't wanting expensive stone work, fire pits, bolders etc. they didn't want the job. You know, that is all fine....just be honest, respectful and let the customer know that its not what you do. Be accountable for your actions and follow through when you say you will be in touch . Its not hard to do the right thing and actions speak louder then words.
