I was especially pleased by the suggestions they made as they went along, including making a wall shorter to allow a bigger space and where to mount the safety bar. I would definitely use Keith again, and wish I had known him when we had two previous bathrooms redone.
Keith was very responsive and very thorough. He provided an excellent quote that broke down all of the costs clearly. He was also very flexible as we changed our minds on a few things throughout the project. Keith's primary installer was very professional and did a great tile job. They completed the project on time and on budget. The end result is fantastic and we are very happy. We would definitely hire Keith again for any tile work we do in the future.
When I contacted him for the bid he personally called me back right away and was very pleasant on the phone, we scheduled a time for him to come out to look at the bathroom and he arrived right on time. He was also the only contractor that brought out a plumber with him (Mike Tritz with Tritz Plumbing), which I thought was great. He was also the only one that while at my house introduced himself to my wife as well as all three of my kids, which absolutely impressed us!
While Keith and Mike were at my house they did a very in depth inspection and let me know of a few different scenarios that they might come across in my old house. He also let me know that he wouldn't be the cheapest person out there to do the job but he would guarantee that the job got done right and wouldn't ask for a penny until my wife and I stood in the bathroom and absolutely LOVED it! This made me a little nervous because I was on a budget and after already having several bids both my wife and I really wanted to go with Keith to do the job because of the impression he gave... we thought he came off as a mix between a grandpa and Holmes on Homes from HGTV.
Before he left he got my email address and told me he would send my an estimate in about a week, I received that estimate in two days, I was impressed by this as well because he didn't over promise anything but instead over delivered on set expectations!
The bid was more than I was hoping it would be for my budget just like he alluded it would be, but it was also amazingly thorough, he had one main section that came up to about $8700 and another "contingency" that would be added to the estimate depending on what they found when they got the floor up, that part was for $1900-$2400.
We decided to go with Keith and pay the extra money because we knew Keith would be doing quality work and we just had a good feeling about him.
When I let him know we would be going with him he was very flexible with the scheduling of the project and he had my wife and I go out to Dal Tile to approve the tile he would be using, which was nice because it made us feel "involved" and we were impressed that he wasn't just going to go to a big box store to get generic sub par tile to do the work.
When the work started Keith arrived at my house and introduced us to Ryan who would be doing the majority of the work. Ryan was very low key and a dilegent worker who kept us informed of the work and progress everyday.
My wife and I were so impressed with both Ryan and the boys from Tritz plumbing, they were so great and never got annoyed with my kids (6&8 years old) who wanted to watch the whole time, in fact they even let them help at time! My kids are still talking about it.
We did run into a few hiccups when they tore out the floor and found an existing sub par plumbing job and a lack of floor supports on one whole side of the bathroom (the reason my toilet sank into the floor when I sat on it) because of the extra work that needed to be done I again became concerned with the cost but Keith reassured me that he would be fair.
The work was complete on time even with having a major snow storm happen right in the middle of the job. And I can't tell you how amazed my wife and I are with the work. My bathroom feels like a luxury spa and we have the piece of mind that the work was done right.
I received my invoice for the project the day after it was completed and I was again nervous opening it because of the extra work I knew they had to do, but my fears were unwarranted as the final price was right inline with what he had originally quoted me.
Amazing job all the way around, will definitely use again and refer all of my family and friends. Its nice to know there are still people out there that have integrity and take pride in what they do. Thank you Keith, Ryan, and Tritz Plumbing!
