Our family room had a noticeable roll in the carpet. I couldn't believe how much excess carpet Chris removed. After noticing some stains I did see, he suggested a good carpet cleaner, too. We had a bleach spot on the hall carpet. It was truly amazing to see the technology Chris used to repair this 50-cent sized spot. I know where the spot was but I honestly can't see where the repairs were made. Chris is truly a flooring specialist and I would definitely use Innovative Flooring in the future.

First, I want to establish that this was the third time we hired Chris to do carpet restretching. We continued to hire him because he does very good work. He is, however, very opinionated but it wasn't an issue until this last job. The prior two jobs went very well. No issues. This time, however, was completely different. He came to estimate the work and we talked about replacing the floor strips in the kitchen entryways from the existing thicker, lined strips to smooth, thinner ones. I told him I wanted the same bronze-colored floor strips as the existing. When he arrived to do the job on Tuesday, March 14 at 4:00 (arrived promptly), I asked him to remove his shoes since we have light colored carpet. No one in our house wear's shoes. He looked at me and said, "While I'm working?" He acted like this request was unheard of . So I asked him if he had anything to cover his shoes and he said no. I told him I was surprised that being in the floor business, he wouldn't realize the customers would want this. He then told me that wearing covers over shoes left a waxy residue on flooring so it was actually better not to wear covers. I left him to his work for a half hour or so then came up and noticed that a silver strip was put on. I told him that I didn't like that and reminded him I wanted the same color (bronze) as the existing floor strips. He was working on the other entryway floor strip and noticed one of the tiles was cracked. He mentioned the new floor strip was not wide enough to hide it. I told him again, that since it was the wrong color, that he would need to get the correct color floor strips anyway. I asked him to pull off the silver floor strip he put on in the first entryway. He acted put out by this, by sighing and asking me if I was sure if I wanted it removed as it might be an issue with vacuuming. I told him to not worry about it and to remove it when he came back with the other strips. I asked him what we owed him and he said he would wait to collect when he came back. He told me it would be a couple of days before he could do so but he would get back to me. The neighbor next door saw him and asked him to do some work as well so I think he wanted to plan to come back when he could do both which makes sense. However, I called him Thursday afternoon to follow up. He told me he needed to look at his schedule and he would get back to me. He called and left a voice mail Thursday night at 8:45 p.m. telling me it would not be until 3/29 or later before he could return as his schedule was tight. He then faulted me for having to come back saying that since I didn't like the strip and needed to come back, it screwed him up schedule-wise. I called him first thing this morning, Friday, March 17, to discuss the issues. He acted like I was talking out of left field and kept bringing up that I wanted the thinner strip and since the tile was cracked on the other side, it didn't work out. I reminded him he suggested a thinner strip during his estimate as it would look better and I agreed. I reminded him again, however, I wanted the existing bronze color and he brought silver. Please note, we have taupe colored tile in the kitchen and very light beige carpeting in the living and dining rooms which is why we had the bronze floor strips (see attached photo). The conversation was not going well. He interrupted me when I was speaking. When I tried to continue, he said in a very demanding voice that he was talking. When I tried to continue, he repeated he was talking and I said I was the customer and I was still talking. Then he rudely hung up. I wrote him through Angie's List messaging stating he was very unprofessional - explaining why, and that I was terminating any further interactions/business with him based on the aforementioned. I told him there was NOT be any further interactions with me as it would make it worse for him in terms of the reviews I planned to leave with Angie's List and the BBB. I requested he said me a bill for what I owed and I would pay it. I am hiring someone else to complete the job. This was such a small detail and he it was handled very poorly. Extremely disappointed.

"First of all, none of our staff will ever take their shoes off and walk on slippery wooden steps, in socks, carrying two 60 pound toolboxes. Having a drop cloth on wood steps is even more dangerous. We also deal with razor blades, staples, nails, and sometimes find broken glass. Aside from that, you don't have light colored carpet, it is a two tone brown/tan burbur that was dirty as heck at the doorway. Second of all, you did not have bronze metal, you had brushed nickel. I installed the silver to hold the carpet down until I came back, so the vacuum would not put strings out. That is why I tried to talk you into leaving them on. At this point, you were rude and hilarious. At no point did you care what a trained professional of 22 years was telling you, and you wanted the metal off, still. I was trying to save you from repairs in the burbur carpet of a run being pulled across the room. Funny how you are fake nice until you don't get your way. Especially after I fixed your house after hacks did your install last time. Third of all, There is no way during the estimate, I could of known your tile was cracked and hidden under the wide metal. If I knew that, I would of just brought the wider metal in the first place in brushed nickel and been done. The store did not have thinner brushed nickel in stock then. Fourth of all, you called me first thing screaming at me about my voicemail. You asked me a question, and would not let me answer. If you are going to call me while I am drinking my coffee, and talk over me, you get hung up on. I have too many customers to deal with. I reserve the right to refuse anyone service, that is rude or disrespectful to me or my staff, and that means you. Fifth of all, You did not terminate my business with you, we refused you service, and terminated you, by hanging up on you during your self entitled, overbearing, controlling, manipulative, unprofessional rant over a $6 piece of metal. Then you try to threaten me and boss me around by telling me not to respond to your email or my review will be worse! At no point do you have any say in what I respond to, and I did by the way. The best part is, after doing this for over 22 years I have NEVER EVER EVER, had one complaint on here or BBB. Meaning, not had a complaint and had it resolved, I mean never had one in the first place, ever. That'[Member Information Removed] after doing over 4000 houses, with a 3 year warranty, not just one year. So, For you to be the first and only customer that we had to terminate work on, and that would be so hate full and Un- [Redacted], to go completely out of your way to try and ruin my perfect reputation on two websites is unbelievable and wrong. The remaining fact is, we were not going to charge you at all. But after you lied on here and said the cost was $100, as if you paid us, It now will be. Aside from that, instead of being with my family tonight, I have to deal with this in my office and explain myself to my customers. In no way will you hurt or damage my company with this, and I sleep very well at night knowing I will never have to deal with you again. If we are not paid by next Friday, A Lien will be on your house and it will be turned into the credit bureau. Your Name, phone number and address have been Blacklisted, and none of the 155 contractors in our group will do work for you, at any time."

Very professional and friendly. Provided an excellent recommendation for purchasing new carpet. I picked out the carpet and Innovative Floors did all the rest. Only took a day and a half to replace all the carpet. He moved furniture and put it all back...left the rooms clean. I didn't even need to be home while he worked!! I would recommend Innovative Floors to anyone wanting great service for an excellent price.

Provided me a lot of details on what was wrong with the walls and difficulty with the relatively fresh pavement to attach the carpet to. Instead of charging me more, he worked hard and longer than estimated to get it done right. Made the original new carpet installation look like 2nd-rate install - great job and very prompt in-person work!

"The baseboards and new doors and electrical work and new drywall, was all in on that cost. Not to mention the dumpster. So our cost was not near that, maybe $1000."

Chris is certified in water damage restoration and is very knowledgeable on the work that needs to be done to prevent mold and get everything dried out the correct way.  I had a few other flooring companies come in before him and he caught several issues that the other companies wouldn't have remedied.  The best part is he doesn't charge the big bucks that the other water restoration companies that specialize in the work do!  He has one of the best drywall guy's in town at his disposal and the work he did replacing the tack strip and carpet pad was top notch!

It went great.  It looks great and came out much better than expected.  There was a large height difference that they fixed also with the carpet.  Definitely will call him again if I ever need anything else.

He did a great job explaining why the second half of my job was much more complex than I'd thought, plus doing it. Nice job of giving me what I wanted, rather than what I'd asked for.

Chris worked us in as we are moving to this location. He prepared two bathroom floors and removed old pads and carpet

from three bedrooms. When he returned , he finished the bathrooms and did the bedrooms putting down new pads and carpet.

All the work was well done. Chris is very good at what he does.
