Fashion Cleaners

I had taken in 7 pieces of clothing including a black suit jacket.  I picked up my dry cleaning on Tuesday Jan 8 after receiving a phone call stating that they had misplaced my jacket.  When I went in on Jan 8 they still had not found my jacket and told me that it had been miss bagged and awaiting the return to them.  On Jan 20, I went in again with more clothes to be cleaned and questioned the status of my jacket to which no one knew where the jacket was. On February 4 I was notified that the jacket had been damaged and they had repaired the jacket and was available for my inspection.  I went in to inspect the Jacket and informed the customer service representative that the repair was not satisfactory and I wanted a refund for the cleaning and the replacement cost of the jacket.  I provided them with a copy of the receipt for the purchase of the jacket and was notified that they would submit the claim.   On February 10th I was YELLED at by a customer service representative because she didnt know anything about my jacket.  I immediately contacted the main office on February 10 after the way that I was treated at their Midtown Location. They informed me that the reimbursement documents had been filed and would be received within two weeks. 
On February 18th I called again and was informed that accountant had been placed on bed rest and they would look into the reimbursement and follow up with me within 24 hours.  NO follow up occurred. 
On March 4th I made another phone call to the main office and was told that they would look into the payment and get back to me.  No follow up ever made. 
On March 15th I filed a complaint with the BBB and was notified that Fashion Cleaners had until March 28th to respond to the claim.  No response was made to me or the BBB. 
On March 29th I called and was informed that the Owner wanted to send the jacket to the company weaver to see if they could fix the damage done to the jacket.  I had informed them that this was NOT acceptable after 4 months of having the jacket and had they taken this action on January 10th rather than lying to me about misplacing my jacket or on February 4th when I had requested that I be paid for the replacement cost of the jacket.  
The lack of customer service provided to me was deplorable and I would not ever recommend this company to anyone!

Peggy at Fashion Cleaners is wonderful, as is Lorraine, her counterpart at the other location (who does more intricate work).  Peggy has done a ton of alterations work for me over the last 2 years after a large weight loss, and has a very good eye for what is & is not worth fixing.  When she does take on a job, she does a very nice job and is always done on time.  She will even do somewhat unusual jobs, like custom dance costume alterations.  The staff here is all also extremely friendly and professional.  I couldn't recommend them more (unless their rates went down to that of my old small-town seamstress).

The quality of the work was great, but I was shocked by the cost. The cost is $25 to hem pants. The customer service was very good, and the items were completed on time.
