We are repeat customers, and I am always pleased (surprised?) at the consistency of responsiveness, reliability, and quality work. Andre tells it like it is, so be prepared for a direct answer, but the quality of work is top notch. He is a specialist who knows how to care for wood (not just coat it), and he works hard to get it just right. What I really appreciate is that he isn't interested in selling you something, he just wants to do what is right - for you, and for your deck. We wanted to have our deck re-stained, and he told us that we should wait (another year, or two) because the wood was still protected from last time (2 years ago) and it wasn't necessary. We did it anyway because we wanted to change the color, but I appreciated the fact that he doesn't care about just getting another job, he is honest about what is needed for the deck. He shows up on time, gets right to work, is efficient, and thorough - every time. What more can you ask for? He's taken care of our 1,100 s.f. deck 3 times in 5 years (could have been less frequent, but that was our choice), and the deck has never looked better.

I am very impressed with the stairs. They used three stringers and the railing is rock solid. I will ask them back when the deck needs refinishing again.

It went great. They have always done great work and clean up after themselves very well; other than the wood being re-stained you wouldn't know they had even been there if you weren't at home when they did their work. I don't think I'll ever use anyone else for such work. If I was going to re-model my deck or build a new one, Jeremiah would be the first person I'd call. We are going to be building a new house in another, close by county in the not too distant future (I hope) and I hope Jeremiah will work in that county too.

I called Jeremiah to get an estimate on our repair work in mid-March, and he was very prompt in getting back to us, and came out the next evening to do the assessment. He was very professional, and wrote up a comprehensive proposal for the work to be done. Once we told him that we would like to hire him, there was a bit of a delay due to the continued cold temperatures and a previous commitment he had made. Work started in early April, but the rainy weather made it difficult for the crew to work more than a day or two each week. Power-washing was done first, then a week later, repairs were made to the deck. The following week, the staining process began, but that also needed to be spread out over two weeks because of the rain. The weather was not the fault of the crew, and I felt like I was kept very informed about their plans to return and what they were hoping to accomplish each day they were there. They were respectful of our property, and moved some things off the deck that we had forgotten to move ourselves. They even moved two birds nests out from underneath the deck, did the staining, and then put the nests back where they had been before. I was very impressed that they cared enough to do this! I would definitely hire EWC again, and I know that several of our neighbors have already signed up for work to be done with them this summer! The fence and deck look beautiful, and we're really looking forward to being outside more often now that we have such a showpiece in our backyard!

Not great. We were in a time crunch with cold weather coming on. When they gave the bid, it seemed high, but it appeared to be based strictly on square footage. (Almost $1,000.00 for just railings on a 20'x12'deck to be stained.We didn't have time to wait around for other bids/scheduling. The brothers could begin right away, so we bit. When actual time spent was calculated, it came to $90-180/hr for one guy to do the power washing--which I felt was excessive. But the staining brought the per hour cost down, so took it as a whole...The staining work was finally done at dusk another day, but was not finished until 2 hours after dark, so I was very worried about the outcome. There was some bleeding over onto painted surfaces, but another painter I hired for other work took care of patching it. The youngest brother was sent out to sand and retouch railing when I complained it was still too rough, splintery, but never came to the door or introduced himself. The power washer did. Nice young men, but loose on the communication, billing/collection ends. There was no address on their postcard, to which to send the payment. I had to wait until about a month or more later. It felt like they weren't very professional in dealings, but work was mostly okay. I wish them well, but found the handling of the job rather unsatisfactory.

Company owner is very knowledgeable and responsive to questions. Advised on best approach to match the wood of the deck that was constructed in two different years. The crew was considerate of working around my dogs. They moved lots of things out of the field of work and took exceptional care to protect the house, windows/doors. Clean-up afterwards was complete. Owner provided instructions for after-care of the finish and guidance for care that will be needed in subsequent years. The price was very reasonable, and a discount was even given for delay this year because of the rainy spring.

We have a 12’ x 20' deck with composite flooring, alumium spindles and cedar railings. We hired Exterior Wood Care to stain the railing of our deck. Jeremiah, the owner, was the one to bid the job and do the work along with his brother. They did an excellent job with everything. They moved all the furniture from the deck and power washed the whole deck not just the railings. After the wood was dry, they covered and taped off the area, sanded and stained the railing. Not a drop of stain was found anywhere but on the railings. They cleaned the area as it was before the work started. My husband and I were both very pleased with their work and we will definitely be a repeat customer. I have already handed out their business cards throughout our neighborhood. Exterior Wood Care takes pride in their work.

As previously agreed, the work began on a Wednesday and included removing the furniture, gas grill, plants and a cord of fire wood from the decks, as well as the replacement of about 20 board feet of cedar that had begun to rot and a power wash. The workmen, who are three highly skilled brothers in their mid to late twenties, also washed our wooden Adirondack deck furniture. Two days later after the wood had dried, the windows and house was carefully masked off with 3M paper and four coats of stain applied over the course of 3-4 hours. The deck was ready to use after three days of drying. The results were really quite amazing I am completely satisfied with the quality of the works.
