Cory was wonderful to work with. Very high quality work. The issue was with the office staff who did not communicate what time they would be coming and what would be performed.

The Critter Control Company was easy to reach (a live person!) and arrived promptly for the appointment. Their representative, Tom Mendicino, was professional in every way. Tom gave me a far better understanding about invasive animals and also demonstrated great compassion for the critters that he deals with. Tom gave me a kill or no kill option on the squirrels, which made the choice to hire him easier.
Removing the squirrels was no small task and took a couple of weeks. I believe a total of 4-6 squirrels were trapped and removed. Tom then did a first rate job in patching the holes and used a more rodent resistant material. He did a few extras too, at no additional cost. Our home is over 100 years old and has many issues, for anyone who works on it. Tom never complained, always explained every detail and answered all questions that I had. He demonstrated a great attitude as well. Whenever there was a need to call him, he almost always
answered his phone immediately! I would gladly have Tom Mendicino back if I ever need this type of work done again. In addition to the squirrel abatement, Tom did a bat check on my house and attic. He did not charge extra for this.
I had the pleasure of speaking to the office people at Critter Control as well after the initial appointment. I found them to very accommodating and professional. This is a first rate company and I would highly recommend them.

1. I would use them again only if I couldn't find a competent more reasonable priced alternative.
2. The Technician was protective of explaining ways for us to remedy the problem with products we could buy ourselves.
3. He efficiently remedied the problem in about 2 hours or less.
4. Critter Control are very pricy.
5. They did disclose upfront, via the message center, that $ 189 would be due for the home visit
6. They also disclosed any work done as result of the visit would be extra.
7. However, I think the $ 189 for the service call is very high price especially since that amount does not apply to the work done.
8. The work cost $ 500 and it took less than 2 hours with some materials. That is a least $ 200 / hr which I think that is very high.
Particularly since the Rep said this a discounted cost.

They did an excellent job, sealed off the area, etc. We haven't had any problems since. They did a wonderful job but they are expensive compared to other companies.

He was honest and told me that he couldn't guarantee the caulking would work. He also said he would not have been able to remove the nest if the birds had already started a nest and laid eggs there. He told me the caulking has kind of a peppery substance in it that the birds do not like on their feet. He also took down an empty nest nestled in between our house and our awning on the back of our house and cleaned up all the mess the birds had left on the side of the house using a bucket of water.
While it was costly, the caulking worked and you couldn't see it at all. It's been great because their nest was right in front of our door and the bird's were leaving quite a large mess that I would have to continually spray off so my kids didn't step on it with their bare feet in the summer. Plus last year a baby bird fell out of the nest and was dead on our porch, after that every time we went out the door or had company at the door, the birds would dive bomb us. I was very glad the caulking worked! He also told us that if the birds came back to the nest in the back of our house, we could watch and put a broom up to knock down the few pieces of straw for a couple of days and they would get fed up and find a new place to go. We did this only for a day or so and he was right, they went somewhere else. Now we don't have bird poo all down the side of our windows. Even though the price was kind of on the high side, I'm glad we did it and I'm glad it worked! He was very professional and called to follow up and check on it a few days later. I was pleased to tell him it worked and they still have not come back!

and quot;It all depends on how bad you want to get rid of your mice!and quot; the replied when I asked how much it may cost when the owner walked into my yard for the first time. I should have known then that I was in for it. After a thorough tour of the interior and exterior of our home, where I pointed out the entrance points I wanted to have sealed, he said it was clear that I had some and quot;major issuesand quot; and recommended some and quot;bait stationsand quot; and a thorough and quot;sealing off of the exteriorand quot;. I went for it because he seemed confident that this would get the mice. Get this, they charge you like $28 per bait station (when you can buy a similar box at the hardware store for like $15) and you didn't even buy it. ...that was just the cost to and quot;installand quot; them (which consists of banging a piece of re-bar into the dirt). After tax you owe them $63.13 per month for and quot;bait station monitoringand quot;. The and quot;monitoringand quot; consists of a guy ringing your doorbell once a month (even when you've asked them not to because someone may be trying to sleep), and telling you that they are there to check on your bait stations, and then a few minutes later they are gone until next month. When I tried to cancel, the owner called up trying to and quot;work with meand quot; and insisted that he had informed me of all the charges and that it was all outlined in the agreement that I had signed. After constantly interrupting and talking over me on the phone while I was trying to explain WHY I was canceling, he said and quot;Sir, I can't help notice that you sound angry, and I can't figure out why... and quot; and quot;WHY?! because I have already spent about $600 with you can't even listen to me tell you that I can't believe I don't even get to keep the little boxes and the last dose of poison you put in there. I wasn't trying to get loud, but you need to listen to me and understand that I am done paying you guys to stop by and look in these boxes.and quot; Then I had to answer another call.... The next day I got an invoice with a complimentary and quot;bait station removaland quot; and one final $63 jab in the checkbook for and quot;bait station monitoringand quot; dated the same day as the removal. I think I would have been better off with $300 worth of 99 cent mouse traps! How bad do YOU want to get rid of your mice?

I called another pest control company that I found on Angie's List because because I could hear scratching in the wall and thought I might have bats. They didn't perform that service and recommended I call Critter Control. Critier Control was very expensive, more than I could afford. They wanted over $160 just to assess the situation and it would be an additional $800-$1200 depending on what they had to do. I told them they that was a lot of money and said good bye.
