The worst tile subcontractor I have ever used in 40 years as a general contractor.

He works as an individual contractor. He was slopping the mortar all over the walls and we had to have them redone. He came in and we had him doing a bathroom, laying the tile, and he didn't put the spacers in which you normally see. If you're really good then I suppose you don't have to at times, but his were so glaring off and the mortar was so soupy that the tiles were floating into each other. If it had set that way we would have had to chop it all up. If we had left for lunch and those things had set it would have been a nightmare. I saw it and called him to come back and put spacers in. To top it off he didn't do a transition tile between there and the carpet and just left it. We were so anxious to get him out the door we said forget it, we just wanted him gone. We didn't want our house ruined anymore. We were going to use him for a lot more but that wasn't going to happen now.
