My husband wasn't that pleased. They didn't really return phone calls and the price was a little high. Josh was the name of the manager.

I've only have the car back about a week or so and it seems to be fine to date. And they were very cooperative in working with me. They were able to do the job and they were willing to work with me. They had to send to Europe for some parts. It took about a week-and-a-half or something like that but only because they couldn't get parts, which I can fully understand because it's an unusual unit. Their price was reasonable.

The shop picked the truck up with a flatbed tow truck the morning I called and the service people were very thorough in diagnosing the problem. The transmission was supposed to be installed one week later than it was but another customer with the same transmission decided not to have it changed so the shop called to let me know it would be done a week early. They provided me with a loner car for most of the time the truck was in the shop at no cost to me except returning it with the fuel at the same level it was when I picked it up. The service writers quoted me a price for having the transmission replaced with a re-manufactured unit with a nationwide warranty. My priority was having the transmission replaced with one that I could trust over the long term and price was secondary to this although I considered the price quoted fair for everything that was provided.

My 1995 Ford Windstar van's auto transmission was on its last legs, I feared.  It was leaking auto transmission fluid, slipping under heavier RPMs, slamming into gear, and the gas mileage was way off.  I should note that my Windstar had over 356,000 miles on it, although probably only about 180,000 miles on the re-manufactured auto transmission that I put into it several years ago after the original auto transmission died.
I really thought that Certified Transmission would pronounce it "dead" and suggest that I replace it, which I had already done once using a supposedly highly reputable Ford dealership north of the river--it has seeped auto trans fluid every since I had a re-manufactured auto trans installed to the tune of over $2500--but that's another story.
Much to my shock & amazement, Certified Transmission got my Windstar running again...and at a cost of only $132.44!!! I was blown away.  It has now been more than two months since they fixed it--still no leaks, no problems at all.  In fact, it shifts better than it has in years! I would highly recommend Certified Transmission for their honest advice & appraisal, and their thorough & effective repair work.

They got the job completed in the timeframe they gave me. They also got it done for the price that they gave me. They were in the middle range of the prices that I saw for the work. When they put the transmission in, I noticed a small leak. I brought the vehicle back in, and they fixed it.

I had used them about 10 years before and their price and work both were very good. They did a good job recently and it was ready when they said it would be. However their price was pretty high. I would probably get an estimate from someone else before I use them again in future.

They are on time and very, very professional. I believe you can trust them 100%. They aren't going to tell you something is wrong when it isn't just to get the business.

They had the car for a couple of months and even sent it to Toyota to have them help diagnose. I kept in touch with Certified every few days. He drove it home, and after he put in the transmission, it still died twice. At that point, we didn't think it would be ready to be picked up. I told him that I do not want the car back if there is a chance it could stall. He assured me it would be safe. He had us pick it up on a Friday after they barely thought they had found the problem. I drove it Saturday and it was dogging on me but didn't die. Then on Sunday I turned onto a busy road and the car died. I pulled over and then saw a big car driving fast plow into us. It was a major hit. There was a brand new computer and transmission and we had to salvage the car. The total bill for damages, towing, and getting the car out of the body shop was $976.
Response from Certified Transmission
"The member does have a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on the transmission she purchased from Certified and Certified always has stood ready willing and able to honor its warranty for any issue with the transmission. The member was informed, and it was also clearly noted on her invoice, that there were other driveability problems with her vehicle and that a 02 sensor needed to replaced. We recommended that she bring the vehicle to a general repair facility for repair, but to our knowledge this was never done. Please note that nowhere in her complaint does she state that after Certified installed the transmission she still experienced transmission problems. The transmission was operating properly, and you cannot blame the transmission for other unresolved driveability issues which caused the vehicle to stall. The bottom line is that the transmission did not cause the vehicle to stall, and it is not Certified's fault that someone else was paying so little attention that they hit her vehicle while it was on the shoulder. Certified has worked hard to gain the publics respect and has even been honored in Washington D.C. for its ethical business practices. While I realize that every case must be judged on its own merits, I do feel that this does help one to understand the philosophy which guides Certified in its everyday business dealings."
