She overpromised and underdelivered. The scope of the job was way more than she could handle in the time she allowed herself. We don't feel proper research was done regarding pricing of furniture. Promises were made regarding delivering items to charity following the sale, and instead, we were told items were junked, and we were charged an addtional fee to haul the items away. Advertising/marketing was almost non-existent. At the settlement meeting to determine what was earned after the end of the sale, her book work was incorrect and we had to request $1,000 back from her once we reviewed the bill and discovered the error. We had to constantly nag her in order to get 2 separate payments back to cover the $1,000 owed to us. We had her continue to sell leftover items on consignment after the sale, and we have to continually nag her to get the checks for the proceeds of the sale. We are unsure if she is deliberately unethical or just a very poor business person. Although she was helpful in getting the house cleaned out and items removed, we were told by others that they would have expected us to make 2 to 3 times what was earned from the sale. The only excuse I can give her is that she is very inexperienced. I would not recommend her for an estate sale, but she would probably do an okay job of reorganizing a home for a move.
