Price was good. Once they were on-site, the crew did a good job, the quality was good, and they finished quickly.
It was a smaller job for them, so they were fitting it in where they could. Because of the small size, I found it challenging dealing with the office.

We contacted Cardinal, and discussed the matter with a sales representative on on 10/11/13; we were told he would get back with us. After numerous phone calls, and numerous broken appointments, the sales representative finally told us on 10/21/13 that the company would not correct their mistake and move the fence to the correct location. Further contact with the owner proved to be useless, as he indicated that they would not move the fence. Because of the unethical practices of this company, we are mising nearly 2 feet of our property on the left side of the house.
We requested that the fence be moved to the correct location based on the lot line as indicated by the surveyor's calculation completed August 2013 due to new home construction next door. We expected this company to deal with us in an ethical manner.
We have always relied on Angie's List to provide a list of reputable companies to provide needed services. We have never been disappointed until now. We are shocked at the shoddy treatment from this company.

I was very happy with Cardinal Fencing. There was one hiccup and that was removal of some and quot;volunteer treesand quot; and their stumps. The estimator had said it wouldn't be a problem to work around them. Fortunately, the crew was great to work with and helped me find a solution. The fence looks great and I am very happy with it.

It was completed timely. Angie's list states the company gives a senior discount. This is not true. They give a cash discount.

I contacted 4 companies for bids. One doesn't do wood fences, one turned out not to be local (glitch in the system made it appear as local). Cardinal and one other sent out estimators within a few days. Cardinal was slower to provide the actual quote--actually, I had to call them, and it turned out they had questions. A couple days later, I got the quote in the mail. (The other company e-mailed their quote right after they did the estimate--but forgot to put an actual quote, saying how much the job would cost, on it. Even after reminders, they never provided this info.) Since Cardinal had good reviews, and they provided me with an actual quote which was about what I expected, I went with them.
Cardinal had told me they'd be able to start work 1-1.5 weeks after receiving my signed acceptance. A few days after sending it in, the utility marking people came out and marked my yard, so I knew things were in process--though I hadn't heard from Cardinal what day they'd be out to do the work. Finally, I called them, since the neighbors have dogs and would need to know. This was on a Friday, and they said they'd start work on Monday, weather permitting.
They came out on Monday, tore down the old fence, dug holes, and put the new posts in the holes. The next day, they poured the concrete to set the posts. The following Monday, they built the new fence. The workers were polite and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves, and the dirt that came out of the new holes was spread in low spots in my yard--so saved me some work in dealing with those spots myself! The fence looks great, the both gates work!
Cardinal's timeline was better than the other company that gave me a and quot;quoteand quot;--both in terms of when they could start the job, and time elapsed from start to finish. Also, Cardinal didn't ask for a penny until the job was finished. The other company wanted 60% before they would start. Cardinal didn't require any prep work of me (trimming bushes, for example), which the other company would have. All in all, a much better deal.
My only complaint was communication. As mentioned, I didn't get the quote until I called them, and they didn't contact me to say when they'd start the job. That's why I marked them down in Responsiveness.
Overall, I'm very happy. I'd use Cardinal again, and would recommend them.

It went well. They were good about calling back to bid the business. I was surprised that other companies did not return my initial call asking for a quote.They were good at letting me know what would happen "next." They showed up when they said they would show up and completed the job when they said it would be complete. Their rate was comparable to others - so I made my decision NOT based on price but on how responsive they were (customer service). I will recommend them to my friends and I would call them again if I had another project.

I called for an estimate and the receptionist scheduled someone to come out within a few days. That person came out on schedule and gave me a written estimate. The estimator was my main contact for the rest of the process and he was always very easy to reach and clearly communicated the schedule to me. The guys that came out to dig the post holes and set the posts were slower than molasses. There were 3 of them but they spent more time talking than digging. They took almost a whole day to do this because they'd dig for about 2-3 digs and then chat for a while. After the posts were set, 2 days later, as scheduled, the next crew came out to actually put up the fence. They were good workers and did an excellent job. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this company.

It worked out good and they did a good job. They were easy to get hold of and they were real responsive; you talk directly to the person in charge -- unlike other companies where you have to go through several layers of people before you get to the boss. They cost a little more than some of the bigger companies but not enough to make a difference. I think they used better materials than others and they were definitely easier to work with. We are real happy with them and will work with them again. Their customer service stands out as a strong point.

Cardinal was very professional, they were able to evaluate another contractors failing and give solution options to work around. The quality and appearance of our fence is exceptional. Several years after installation a tree fell on the fence and the Cardinal Representative evaluated the damage recommend that it would be in our best interest to repair it ourselves, detailed how to do the repair and delivered the materials the next day on his way home from work. Cardinal's integrity and customer service is top of the line. I have and will continue to recommend them to my family and friends.

The fence was built in a couple of days. It looks fantastic. Something serious happened on this day however which will always make me remember Cardinal. When I answered the door one of the workmen took one look at me at knew something was wrong. Without even saying anything else he dialed 911 for an ambulance. I was having a massive heart attack. He followed the ambulance to the hospital. This man saved my life, and I will eternally grateful for that. Everytime I see the beautifully built fence I think of that day.
