The first plumber came close to the scheduled time. Then he left to work on another job and another worker came to finish the job. He felt the problem was a clogged discharge line. He attempted to roto the line but needed to get a different snake. Using the second snake he busted out the side of the discharge line. After 3 hours of attempting to clear out the line he contacted the owner who returned to finish the project. He decided to remove the Grinder Pump and take it to their shop to analyze it's performance. They left a sump pump for us to discharge the sewage into our backyard. We had to use OUR OWN garden hose for this process. After two days I called him and he said he was on his way to pick up the new Grinder Pump. Then he called to say he was given the wrong pump and had to return to where he picked up the new pump to get the correct pump. (why didn't he check it while he was there?). He finally came back to our house to install the correct pump. After many attempts to get it to work right he decided he was given the wrong backflow-preventor and had to get a different one. While finishing the job he said "I am sorry to have to say this but I will need more money to finish the job." He said he would need another $200. After MUCH decision and him agreeing to finish the job the way I wanted it finish we both agree to the changes and I agreed to the additional $200. He wanted to cover the tank with a piece of wood. This tank is in the utility room. The wood would eventually rot from the water in the tank and would have to be replaced at some time. I told him for the $200 I wanted a heavy piece of metal over the tank, strong enough for someone to walk on it. He agreed and stated it would take a few days to cut it and prepare it for the tank. It has been over two weeks and he has NOT return to finish the job. I currently have a sewage tank open inside our house. I have it covered with a tarp in an attempt to control the smells. I have decided it will be up to me to construct the metal cover. Things to think about: First he should have had a garden hose for the sump pump so we didn't have to get ours contaminated with sewage. He attempted to get more money after the orginally agreed upon cost. He never finished the job. How many people would enjoy having an open sewage tank in their house? Not many I am sure. I even told him I was new to the area and I was looking for a plumber I could have a long-term relationship with. This guy won't be called again.
Description of Work: My lake house using a Grinder Pump to pump the house sewage up hit to the association sewage line. The Grinder Pump was not doing a proper job of staying up with the amount of people in the house using water/sewage. It was "finally" determined the Grinder Pump had to be replaced.
