Tom did outstanding work on what I thought was a difficult job. The building inspector was also impressed. In addition to the work that he did for us, Tom was willing to advise me on the part of the work I was planning to do, and he had no reservations about doing small parts of a project that I was mostly going to do myself. A lot of homeowners are like me--capable of doing a lot of remodeling work, but not professional enough to be able to do everything. It is invaluable to be able to hire professionals who are not offended by being asked to do only part of a job and who have the patience to advise the homeowner on parts of the project that the pro isn't getting paid to do. This was my first and only major remodeling job, and my previous experience in framing and carpentry was not extensive. Tom's willingness to share some of his professional knowledge with me made an enormous difference. My project has now passed all building inspections and I am finishing up the detail work.
