Nebraska Home Improvement to installed 13 windows in our home.  An appointment was made for 10 am.  Jason from Nebraska Home Improvement showed up at 1 pm.  Jason asked if they could unload the windows in the driveway and then they needed to go get the trailer of equipment and would be back.    Jason, with a trailer, came back at 3 explaining they finished another job and it was too hot to work. Jason told me that he had sent his crew home for the day and asked if they could store the windows in my garage and come back tomorrow to start the job. When Jason and his crew arrived the next day, I opened the garage for them to get the windows out.  They began working shortly after they arrived but when I went out to scope out the project my garage was full of tools, saw horses, metal etc.  They were using my garage as a work shop. Metal chips, cigarette butts and loud music filled my garage.  Shortly after arriving Jason had to leave and when he came back he had brand new ladders, with cardboard protectors over the ends This was my first window installation and did not know what to expect so I went along with the crews ‘doings’ thinking that they were experienced.    When the crew left for the day I was told they would come back on Friday to finish the job.  They returned Friday morning with the same work ethics of loud music, tossing cigarette butts in my yard and foul language used as they installed the windows and rapped the metal trim.  Late Friday afternoon the installation was not complete and two members of the crew were beginning to pick up my garage as the rest of the crew left.  Jason asked if they could finish cleaning up my garage and come back Monday to finish the last of the trim and finish the install of the front picture window. “It’s Friday night and my crew wants to call it quits”.  Jason left.  I went out to the garage and told the 2 crew members that they could leave; they had done what they could to clean my garage. I was going to have to move everything to see the garage look as it did prior to them using it as a “shop”.    Monday the job was finished and @ 5 pm Jason came to do a walk though and collect the second half of the payment.  The windows were purchased on an energy loan and half the money was sent to the Nebraska Home Improvement and the other half to us to be paid in full upon completion of the window install.  Jason and I walked through the inside and outside of the house.  I asked about the gaps in the metal trim on the outside corners of the windows.  Jason told me that gaps are left for the metal to breath.  I asked why some had the gaps and others did not.  Jason said that the windows were fine.  I asked about the markings on my house and Jason said it would wash off and it “appeared as though I needed siding anyway”.  I told him that my house may need siding, but that it was my money and we would replace the siding when were ready, not because the crew left marks on the siding.   We found one window that the uv film was “spotted” and he said they would replace the window, he would order it.    Unfortunately and totally my fault, I gave Jason the check after being assured that everything would be taken care of.  Jason gave me his cell number and told me to call him if I had any problems or questions.  A couple of weeks went by and the window was not replaced. I called Jason several time at the number he had given me and he never returned my calls. I called Nebraska Home Improvement and they knew nothing about it.  They would send someone out to measure the window for replacement.   Days went by, no one came.  We called a week later and they had nothing on record. Again they told me someone would come out and measure.  Eventually, one month after installation someone came out.  I explained I was not happy.  They measured the window to be replaced as when they went to look for the labels on the windows to show size and order number they noted that there was nothing on the bad window or the other window in the same room.  I explained I had been calling Jason and he would not return my calls.  How or who should we contact when we have problems with the windows.   I took the employee out back and showed him my siding. He asked if Jason was aware, I said yes – he told me it would wash off.  This employee told me that he would send a crew out to “paint” the siding.  The employee left and within 30 minutes Jason was at my house asking me why I had not called him.  I explained I had left messages and he said he never got them.  He told me that I must have the wrong number. I asked why he stopped by now and he said he was doing a follow-up.   I said “you just got your butt chewed and you are coming over to cover yourself”.  He admitted he had been called to stop by.  Jason never came over again and never replaced the window.  About two weeks later a new employee stopped by to replace the window. I made several calls to Nebraska Home Improvement  in the next 30 days to question why my siding was not painted or replaced.   A crew showed up on a Saturday, 6 weeks after I had reported the bad siding, in person to an employee of Nebraska Home Improvement.   The crew of two looked at the house and told me that they were contracted by Nebraska Home Improvement to paint but told me that there was no way they could match the paint.    The crew asked me come out and look at their job.  I shook my head at the difference in paint colors and let them leave.  Again, my fault.  The siding still shows the signs of paint being slapped on it over the damaged spots.  As winter came the windows howled.  The windows were cold to touch and we wondered if new insulation was placed around the windows.   Our new windows were not showing us they were doing the job and they were not making a difference on our heating bills as promised. Spring came and as we began to open the windows we noted more windows with bad uv film.  Also noted was that I was unable to lock most the windows once opened and then closed again.  The windows do not seem to line up – you must push up on the top and pull down on the bottom and then make sure you have them perfectly lined up.  I have had shoulder surgery and ease of the one finger open and locking was a selling point.    After several phone calls Nebraska Home Improvement and no return calls, an appointment was finally set for a technician to come out and look at our windows.  Jerry came out, a fresh new face at Nebraska Home Improvement.   We explained our frustrations and he apologized saying that the front office staff had “walked out” and took all her knowledge of the company with her.  “The new staff just gives folks sticky notes and no follow-ups are done”.  He gave us his cell number and told us to contact him directly with problems. He was an x-brother in law or something like that and has an “in” with the owners.  He told us the company had gotten many complaints for subcontracting.  Jerry guaranteed he was going to make it right.  Jerry measured the bad window for ordering a new one and then looked at the locks. Jerry stated that it appeared none of the windows were “lined up” which they have to do once they are installed.  The lock in question was going to have to be replaced and he would do that when he brought the new window out. We asked about the howling winds through the windows and he told us that sub contacted jobs generally do not do insulation. Again, when he came back out he would take off some trim and check. We ca

They did a fantastic job. They are upfront and they don’t play games when pricing is concerned. They delivered their work in a timely manner like they said they would. They were very easy to work with. Their price was better than their competitors. They did a great job.

Pretty well. There was a mix up in the financial area ( the details I really did not quite understand because I am not a banker) that was cleared up after a couple of phone calls. I do not recall any problems with dealing with any of the employees that I dealt with from Nebraska Home Improvement Center. I still have a few windows left to replace in the future. I will strongly consider using them at that time.

Everything went great, from start to finish. Their workers knew what to do and did it in a timely manner. Everything was cleaned up. The owner of the company checked the progress every day and is something wasn't done to his satisfaction, it was redone. I would highly recommend this company.

Company helped me obtain low interest energy loan which was closed in record time. Windows were ordered and installation began ahead of schedule. Crew did their work with skill and got the job done as promised.
