The moving crew showed up on time and they were very polite. They had my mom's stuff moved out of her apartment in a little over an hour, and into her new assisted living apartment within another hour. The crew (3 men) were great to work with. They were quick, hard working, helpful, they didn't want any help from us, they were respectful of my mom's property, and they helped arrange the new apartment as well. Simply couldn't ask for a better experience!!
This is our second time using Local Movers this year and I can honestly say they will be the first ones I call if I need another move. They do a great job for a great price!

They did not come at the prearranged time. They were early. We had just taken a load of boxes to the new place and were planning to to return at the prearranged time. We paid for our daughter's move. She received an irate phone call from owner who chewed her out for not being there two hours early. He was so rude and obnoxious that he made our daughter cry. Apparently they redirected another crew to come back and move her stuff. While they were fast, they were definitely not careful. They snagged a rug. We were right there and pointed it out and they just shrugged it off. They broke a tea set belonging to my granddaughter. It was handprinted and irreplaceable. They did not wrap the TV. They broke a lamp shade and removed the dresser mirror but did not return the hardware to put it back. Instead of carrying the boxes up the stairs they loaded 3 to 4 of them on a dolly and bumped them up the stairs. We were very disappointed and would never use them again or recommend them.

"We as a business all we can say is WOW. This is the first time we have heard anything about this move that took place over two weeks ago. No one ever called and was ever rude on the phone. Local Movers called to inform this party that the crew was at their house waiting for them and that they were running ahead of schedule.. This was left on an answering machine. A woman called back about 10 minutes later and said you were not supposed to be there until around 2 pm. I said the crew was running ahead of schedule and this is why we are calling you. She said she would be there in 20 minutes and it was left at that. During the move a rug did get snagged and Frank went to the customer and told them about it. They said do not worry about it. I like how she put in this complaint that they watched them do it which is not be truthful. Like Frank said, it happened in the bedroom and no one was around so he informed the customer. If a tea set got broke, it got broke because it was not packed right. It had nothing to do with Local Movers. The mother is the one that wrote this complaint and like the guys said she had a chip on her shoulder the minute they got there and it shows in this complaint. Like Scotty and Frank said, the rest of the family was joking around and laughing with them at the end of the move. Here is the kicker...they even got a $20 tip each. So if the move was so bad, why would you tip them. Like I said, this is from the mother and she had a chip on her shoulder from the get go and it shows in this complaint. Local Movers has never received a call from these people about a complaint or anything else... This is the first time we are hearing anything about this. For dollying boxes up the stairs, people are paying an hourly rate and they do not want to see you carry one box at a time, that is why we dolly 4 or 5 at a time. I like how she even slammed this process. As far as I am concerned the tip pretty well tells that this move was not as bad as this person is trying to make it sound."

Local Movers did a real nice job moving my mother-in-law. Originally they said they'd have 3 men doing the move, only two showed up the day of the move. However, the two men did a real nice job. They were polite and helpful, and were very careful both with the furniture and in avoiding marring the walls. In addition they were quite patient with the elderly residents of the new apartment building. The truck they sent was clean and appropriately sized, and they showed up right on time. Price was very reasonable too!
During the transit from one location to the other, a medium sized glass mirror was broken. The men told us about it right away, and I called the main number to report it. They took the piece with them at the end of the day, got it repaired, and delivered it to my mother-in-law when it was finished. Accidents happen, and they took responsibility for it and got it fixed in a timely manner. No complaints about that.
All-in-all, we had a really good experience with Local Movers. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and we'd use them again with question.

It was a great experience. All the guys where nice and curious. They made sure I was pleased and everything was in the right place. They where very fast and efficient I would use again in a heartbeat

... but they damaged our Ethan Allen dresser and then multiple employees, including the Owner/Manager 'Dave' became confrontational and angry, accusing us of falsifying our claim. They eventually paid to have Southside Repair, Lincoln NE , do an excellent job of addressing the damage at no cost to us.

They are good. They are excellent to deal with and very efficient. They will definitely work with you. They are very professional and very thorough about making the move go as smoothly as possible. The more organized you are, the better it goes. They are excellent on all counts and I will continue to use them for ever. We are almost on a first name basis with them now.
