COLE CONTRACTING SVC

Initially he was utilized by our plumber to frame up tub/shower wall and complete drywall around new tub/shower area. He did a great job with this and the price was very reasonable so we asked him to continue work on our bathroom after the plumbing portion was complete. We felt that he attempted to convince us to do what was the easiest amount of work for him instead of what we wanted. We removed a corner shower and wanted to put a closet in it's place, he urged us to wall over the shower space instead - which we did not end up doing as we need as much space as possible. He did not clean up the construction mess that he left when working. He came on his own schedule, never told us when he would arrive and at one point during the project didn't show up or call for more than a week. He told us more than once that we were moving the project backwards and often acted like he was doing us a favor by doing the work. We reached a point when we received one of his bills that we realized he had done half the work for twice as much money compared to the work he did on the tub/shower. Our bathroom was nowhere near complete and he couldn't give us a firm estimate for what it would take to complete it. When presented with the two bills he would not break down the hours and supplies for us as requested so we were left guessing as to what he actually spent time doing. At one point during the project, he called and told me that he had instead taken my dogs for a walk. Things like this concerned me with regards to exactly what he had billed us for. Perhaps this would have been more successful had we given him a clear timeline and not let him share his opinions on how he thought our project should proceed.
