The salesperson was friendly and professional. He provided lots of information and options. I later learned he was one of the owners. The first day of installation went great. The living rooom carpet was installed in about 4 hours. The following Thursday I was supposed to have carpet installed in 2 bedrooms. The Installer arrived on time and got the carpet installed in the master bedroom. He then told me he was ill and needed to go home. I understand that this can happen and told him it was fine for him to go home. He said he'd return on Friday or Saturday to complete the work. Again, I told him this was fine and that if he didn't feel better, he could wait until Monday. My problem is that he didn't call or show up on Friday. In the afternoon, I called the store and spoke with a salesperson since no one had reached out to me. She didn't know what was going on but said she'd find out and call me back. Got a return call saying she wasn't able to reach him. She said that the earliest she could guarantee the work would be completed was a week later. That meant that 2 beds, multiple dressers, night stands, and clothing would be in our dining room for another 6 days! She said she left him a message to call me and hopefully he'd feel well enough to complete the work earlier than the following Thursday. Long story short, he showed up unannounced on Monday morning. I was still in nightgown since I wasn't expecting him. The work he did was excellent and he was very friendly. I just think the company needs to improve the communication and responsiveness to customers. The installer explained that he didn't call me because he'd left all his paperwork at my house. I understand that, but someone from the store should have called me on Saturday or early Monday morning to let me know the installer would be back Monday morning. The store had all my contact information even though the installer didn't have his paperwork.

1) I dealt with this business another time when I had gotten a price from NFM which they matched - about 25% LOWER. Price was significantly lower at NFM. This time I discussed this with Chris and he said 'He would set me up' Well he actually had nothing to do with the price I was charged, they come down less than 10% on the price. I was in a hurry so accepted the price
2) They round up on carpet foot estimates. May not be a huge addition but I had to buy 12 square feet of carpet I didn't need. Plus they use the inflated number to calculate pad and installation cost
3) I called back to give my vinyl selection and change installation date and pad selection. My sales person was not in, the person that answered assured me they would give her the message. This didn't happen. Worked out ok on vinyl selection, I just told them again. But wrong/more expensive pad was installed. Laci refused to adjust price unless I paid final balance immediately over the phone, I chose not to do this.
4) Everything is extra, Chris told me that not all vinyl installations include taking up and re installing shoe so this was extra. $3 a foot. I don't believe him.
5) Vinyl was not installed half way into doors like Chris and I had discussed. Installer told me he didn't have enough vinlyl to do it that way plus it was too late when I saw it.
6) One bathroom had a 3 inch slit in the vinyl in the doorway. Chris assured me this vinyl was magic and could be repaired. After installer made repair the slit looked the same as unrepaired. I called Chris, he said sarcastically they they would re install the vinyl but the installer was paying for it as he was the one that messed it up ( I really didn't care) I thought this was very unprofessional.

Dan helped us research different flooring options for our old house, we finally decided to buy a new house instead of remodeling the old house. We had new carpet installed in a small bedroom.

The carpet is fine and looks good but because the installers did such a poor job with clean up and caring how they left our house, we will not be using this company again.

"This installer has been reprimanded and we have talked to him about his lapse in focus. However the installer that made this mistake is someone carpets direct has used for years and he does exceptional work. Mistakes happen and he is a human being. Carpets Direct prides ourselves in service, quality installation and great communication but no matter how hard a company may strive for perfection accidents can still happen. The owners have contacted the client and addressed her concerns in which she was appreciative of our follow up and resolution to this mistake."

Overall the job went off very well. We will use them in the future. They really did a great job.
