If your looking for a young, knowledgeable, and talented contractor then Kenny's your guy. Kenny was very prompt and professional. He wants to make the customer happy and satisfied with his work. He was flexible and very easy to work with. He was true to his word with his bids, and if their was going to be an added cost it was discussed upfront. His prices for his services were competitive and fair. Overall we are very pleased and will be using Kenny for all our future remodeling needs.
All work completed was done in a professional manner and we are completely happy with the results. Kenny and his crew had a plan in place for each day, conveyed that plan to us and completed what they said they would accomplish. Kenny was on site each day by 7:30-8 a.m. and worked until 5:30--6:00 p.m.. He even worked on weekends so that he could complete the project in the time frame that he said he would. Kenny and his crew were always courteous and personable. We appreciated the fact that they cleaned up after themselves each day. We also appreciated the kindness they demonstrated with our children and pets.
Kenny is an exceptional painter and painted all three rooms quickly and professionally. We plan on using him any time that we need painting done down the road.
Kenny has great connections with subcontractors and we were quite pleased with the work of his drywaller and electrician. He was also able to recommend a roofing and flooring company that gave us a good bid on refinishing our wood floor.
We would be happy to talk with anyone who is considering remodeling and look forward to working with Kenny and his crew on future projects.
"After I believe 4 trips with 4 different drawings and bids to (member name removed) deck project, we finally came upon an agreement on what she wanted. I was happy to make the changes, and re figure the bids based on her desires as this is a part of my job. We started working on the deck diligently, although (member name removed) repeatedly questioned our methods and ideas, I was happy to explain things to her every step of the way. We ran into unforeseen issues with existing concrete below the grounds surface from her existing porch, we had to move footings, we ran into tree roots. Some of the tree roots actually caused a rented auger to completely break. I was forced to pay for repairs to the auger and rent a new one. We also returned some wood for different sizes to minimize the amount of waste, in turn saving the client money on material. We had went out of our way several other times to make (member name removed) happy. One specific example included removing a 13ft long board with about 20 screws in it because our client did not like how the knot in the wood looked. We did not charge a penny extra for any of this, we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and strive for excellence in all ways possible. The real issue of this deck comes to the spindles picked out by (member name removed). To try and match the look of her existing porch out front, we used 4x4 AC2 treated boards from Menards as spindles. 6x6 AC2 treated boards were used for support posts. As with any treated lumber, and as a matter of fact, all treated lumber, as it dries out, it shrinks, cracks, and sometimes twists. (member name removed) complaint was, that after a couple weeks, the spindles and posts started to crack. I not only expected this, but had told her initially treated wood will shrink and crack and suggested a composite deck solution to prevent this. I then took pictures of all 17 spindles with the smallest crack and took them to my contractor rep at Menards. He and his manager both explained that the cracks were so insignificant, they would still pass inspection, and could be sold from the store like that. They told me I could pay to replace them but, would most likely be there doing it again every couple of months. I then helped (member name removed) fill out the form to try and get Menards to replace the spindles and I would give her my labor for free. The last email I had sent her asked if there was any news back from Menards. A short time later, I received a phone call and awful voicemail from a third party explaining to me I would soon be sued if I did not fix everything for free. A short time after that come accusations of terrible work, making purchases without authorization and the list continues. I have already lost well over $1,000 trying to make things right in the eyes of this customer. At this point I have to walk away. It is absolutely the last thing I want to do but, I do not see these issues being resolved, no matter what level of effort I put into resolving them. The review from this client started off wonderful with an A+ rating ( like every single one of my reviews) and has now been changed as well as her story, over and over. I would ask you as a customer to look at my other reviews and check my long list of references, you will not be disappointed. Thank you!"
