"I am responding to the complaint from a project done a very long time ago. Am happy to say the home is still shingled and for its age it looks pretty good. The owner no longer lives in the home she has moved. There was a problem with the roof the customer was very upset. She had purchased shingles and did not like the color, the blue was varied in shades. It was not a defect and the quality of the shingles was good. Our company installed the shingles we can not return customers products. She did not complain about the color till we finished and a tear off and re-shingle was offered. Customer did not understand about the quality of shingles and she was positive we stole the 60 or so squares of shingles. You see the shingles were 3 tab and there are 3 bundles per square of a total amount of 90. We used 30 squares or 90 bundles of shingles. She misunderstood bundles and squares. The house she purchased had an old roof that had been leaking in the past and we noted the old yellowed areas. Our company will not cover past damage to homes. Work to her damaged plaster areas could have been repaired at an additional cost. We strive to do quality work unfortunate our customer was very unset about the shingles she purchased and she was unfamiliar with the quality and coverage of the products. Our company prefers to buy all products to prevent this kind of situation from happening . After this happened we changed our policy and practice of using customer products as we can not warranty the quality of customer purchases. It is sometimes helpful to discover cases like this and we can target it and prevent it from reoccurring again."

"Thanks (removed member name)! The house is so pretty it reminds me of a castle with a beautiful blue roof."
"The roof was done for the member 5 years ago. The job was done July 1 2005 in a timely workman like manner. The customer was satisfied and happy with the completed job. When we were done the customer informed us he would like to install a new furnace. He would like us to cut up the new roof and install a furnace boot for the new furnace he wanted to put in later. It is customary to install furnace boots or any roof protrusions before you install a new roof. This was not part of our contract. The customer did not have a new furnace so the work was simply not done. About 2 months later the customer did call and request we come over and install a furnace hood and re-shingle around the hood because he had installed a new furnace now. It was not possible that we come over at that time it was our busy season and had jobs schedule. There was no proposal or contract and this job was not scheduled to be done. We could not come do any additional work at that time. I have never heard from them again. At the time of the proposal we offered to install a exhaust hoods for the kitchen and bath. This allow for proper venting in homes and it is offered as a extra to our clients. This extra would cost $150.00 in addition to the proposal if excepted. The kitchen did not have a kitchen vent installed so it could not be done and the customer did not approve the bath vent to be done. These hood are to be done when we are at the job installing the roof. The hoods were not approved and no hoods were installed. The customer did short his payment by $200.00. We have never prodded to collect the balance due. I am surprised to here from this customer there has never been any request for more services or any contact for the past 5 years. This is the first time I have heard from them and I see a complaint on Angie's List. I would think it better to simply give us a call on the phone or write a letter by mail. I can not install furnace hoods if there is no furnaces. I must have a contract or proposal to do work. Work is done on a schedule. I would like come out right away but it is not possible or fair to the people who are scheduled. I looked up the original customer signed proposal for this job dated June 8, 2005. There is no mention of installing any furnace hood. There has never been any other proposal or contracts for any extra work to be done. There was no extra fund collected for extra services in fact the customer did not pay the balance due. I have requested by mail that she remove this bogus complaint."
