This job was started in the summer of 2012, but has not been finished. He completed the job at my house - the roof, siding on the house, and roof and siding on the garage. He did a pretty good job on that part of the job. He was to order a special window for the north bedroom, but has not put it in. Then he moved into Fairfield to shingle my folks house, garage, fix the windows broken by the hail, replace a kitchen window and 2 porch windows. He was also to replace the basement outside doors and paint the house. He finished the roof on the house but did not put the gutters back on the house, or do any of the rest of the work. This was started last fall. He said he would be back next summer. He called in June and said he would be back the first of July. I waited until the end of July and began to call him. I would leave 2 and 3 messages a day on his cell phone. He did not return any of my calls. I left messages on his Facebook page and again got no response. I talked to the insurance agent and have contacted a lawyer to try to get him to complete the work. I have now had to look into taking out a loan to complete the work that needs to be completed.

In the beginning things were going good.  Chad would return text messages and phone calls within a day or two.  He was polite and professional.  We knew we were dealing with a small company.  He and his wife came out and took measurements on the windows, doors and gutters.  The quote was agreed upon after some fine tuning on November 15, 2012 for $9,083.  A payment of $7,000.00 was made to order materials -- windows, sliding glass doors, entry doors and storm doors.  This should have also paid for the gutters, downspouts, soffit and fascia.  The Pella truck showed up and the windows, sliding glass doors and storm doors were delivered and placed in our garage.  Chad installed 3 windows in the house on February 6th.  He also asked for a check for half the labor at that time.  I wrote a check for $1200.00.  The windows were installed, but the exterior and interior trim were not done at that time.  When follow up phone calls and texts were going unanswered I asked my husband (an OTR truck driver) to join me in trying to reach him.  He was successful -- after stressing to Chad we were due for a major snow storm he came out and trimmed out the windows on the exterior.  Since then, there were texts apologizing for the delay, explaining another job was taking longer than expected and promising to get back and finish things as soon as he could.  He was constantly trying to find help to work for him - - even temporarily.  Eventually communication came to a stop.  My last couple of texts came from him on April 1, 2013 explaining he would be out around noon.  He later came back and said the truck wouldn't start and he would be taking it in to get it looked at.  I haven't heard back.  I've tried calling, texting and even leaving messages on his regular website, as well as his facebook website.  I had my daughter send a couple of e-mail messages through Facebook to try and reach Chad or his wife for any response.  His wife finally responded saying she would get the message to Chad.  Still nothing.  We have contacted an attorney so will see how that comes out.  (Just a side note - a lady I work with is going through the same thing on work Chad had done / or not done for her parents.)  As of this date, I see that his regular website candcimprovement.com is no longer available. . . .I'm also checking out the facebook website and I see my daughter's last 3 posts are still there.
I wish this would have worked out so much better!  But here I am submitting this kind of report - - so others will NOT go through the same thing!
