I brought my cat in at 730 am and they neutered and vaccinated him and then observed him after to make there were no complications before I picked him up at 5 pm. Unlike other vets in the area, the neuter included the removal of his testicles which removes the desire to spray or mount other cats.

After we adopted our grey hound Irish from the shelter, the and quot;freeand quot; appointment we received was with Midtown. They told us she was fixed and 6 years old then did a bunch of blood tests and shots we did not request and were not told about until afterwards. That appointment ended up costing $135.00. A few months later we began to notice that she had an ear infection but she was also spotting. We were concerned because the vet had told us she was fixed. When we took her in they treated her for the ear infection and said she had a UTI and treated her for that. But the bleeding continued so we took her back and told the vet we didn't think she really had been fixed. This time they did an x Ray and more blood work and sure enough our dog was really in heat. There was blood work and tests done with every appointment - some we were told about and some we weren't. But by the third appointment we were into them for nearly $500.00 - and that did not include the medicines. I found the staff to be slightly grumpy and I didn't feel listened to. In the end we switched vets, had Irish fixed and have had her back to our new vet several times and still haven't spent $500.00. Irish is also not 6 years old - she is 2 years old. My husband and I really felt that each time we went to Midtown we were spending money on services Irish did not need and the things we were concerned about were overlooked and we were treated like we didn't know what we were talking about.

I've pretty much always used Midtown Animal Hospital. In my experience they've been about the best overall for me. They do have a habit of being a little grouchy when my Newfoundland gets loud and doesn't want them to touch her. I understand that, but they're vets, they should have this thing figured out and know how to approach the situation. Instead they get frustrated and just slap a muzzle on her. Beyond that, they're always good in their treatments and don't try to get me to buy things I don't need. They have a kid's area for the little one when she goes with me and she'd rather not go into the exam room with us.
