I would like to share with you all my review of Husker Hammer, and more specifically Aaron from Husker Hammer. To start, I was initially impressed with Husker Hammer because they went out of their way to tarp my roof and remove branches while away on my honeymoon. I thought going with this company would be a great experience. Instead, I had to deal with contractors who didn’t show up when Husker Hammer said they would which put a delay on the work they were scheduled to do. I had to rearrange my schedule on several occasions to make sure the contractors would show up as expected. The contractors were not informed by Aaron and/or Husker Hammer specifically on what work needed to be done. When they came to the house, they looked around and said they’d be back to do the work the next day. They wouldn’t show the prices of the material on the contract, and the lack of communication was very appalling. After all of the hassle, the work on the contract wasn’t fully completed and they decided to do some things different without permission. I checked everything on my contract for proper completion of the work, and there was $680 worth of work that wasn’t completed. At no point did they try to contact me about any work that didn’t need to get done or work that they were going to do as upgrades. I had to reach out to them when I noticed the vents that were on the contract weren’t installed, but instead an upgraded, more costly vent was installed. The contract stated that any upgrades or changes would be OK’d by the homeowner prior to the start of work being done. When I brought this up with Aaron, he proceeded to argue. He held the tarping of the roof above my head, so he wouldn’t have to take off the $680 worth of charges. I was able to get the charges removed only after setting up a meeting with Matt, the president of Husker Hammer, and Aaron. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a meeting with Matt and Aaron. On the morning of the meeting, Aaron removed the $680 charge and canceled the meeting saying that he talked with Matt about it. It makes me curious as to how many homeowners they’ve done this to without their knowledge of it, because people expect that Husker Hammer will do the right thing as with any reputable company. I will never recommend this company to anyone because they don’t care about customer retention. They have treated me poorly and tried to scam every dollar out of me that they could. To be frank, it’s been a horrible experience. I hope this review helps you choose your next company wisely.

"I am not going to go into great detail on this from our perspective, as I want to take the high road on the subject. I can tell you we have never "scammed" a dime out of anyone. We wouldn't be in business for 20 years if so, nor have won the BBB Integrity award twice. Repeat customers is our #1 source for referrals. It comes down to the home owner not understanding that we upgraded his ventilation to him at no charge and did everything within the scope of his insurance paperwork, or if there was a discrepancy, did not make him pay for it. As you can see below, we worked very hard every step of the way to ensure the homeowner was satisfied. He left us with every indication we took care of everything to his utmost satisfaction. Not sure why now, he is trying to say we didn't do our part. Lifetime guarantee on workmanship for the roof replacement. Completed the job in one day. The crew did a great job. Devin followed up to inspect and verify everything was complete. He also did another sweep of the yard to collect any debris the crew missed. Professional.

Terrible.
Signed contract for work in June of 2015 and it wasn't finished till December 19,2015.
First installers damaged walls and ended up damaging the windows. Didn't show up on 2 days they said they would. Ended up leaving town.
New installer Brent was the only person in the whole process who knew what he was doing. He figured out the windows were damaged beyond repair and that we needed to get new windows ordered and re-installed.
12/19 Brent came back with the windows and did the job correctly. Had to repair drywall and fix all the other things that were done wrong.
12/22 Instead of anyone from Husker Hammer coming out to check on the job, I was just emailed an invoice for full payment.
After the new year I had several phone and email conversations with the owner of the company. He was rude and threatening until he got payment. After all this was only offered $100 off of total bill.
Long story, but this was a terrible experience that lasted 6 months, extended into our Christmas and caused me to take a total of 7 days off of work. 3 of those days, no-one even bothered to show up or call me and tell me they weren't coming that day.

I want to clarify the reason the process took as long as it did is because we stood behind our work and made up for the installers mistakes by ordering you all new windows at no charge to you. Unfortunately it takes 6 weeks to get custom windows from the manufacturer and yes we deserved full payment once we completed the project, and we did indeed have the window manager on site who ultimately made the decision to reorder you all new windows. When I contacted husker hammer they had a lady show up the next day to give me an estimate. My first estimate was much lower but I actually wanted additional work done (screens on the gutters to keep leaves out) so the price went up double. The lady that did the estimate was extremely knowledgeable and helpful as I knew NOTHING about gutters. Compared to a lot of their work, I had a relatively small project but I still feel that I got the respect I deserved. The day the work was scheduled to happen there was a mixup and it was a no call no show. I called Husker Hammer the next day and they were very nice and honest about the mix up and had a crew out to my property promptly. The work was completed quickly and the workers were very nice. The ONLY complaint that I had was that the downspouts to the gutters drained the water into the base of my garage. I actually didn't even notice that at the time or I would of said something. My dad inspected the work and bought a couple materials to divert the water out of the way of my base. Overall I was happy and would call them back for additional work. With the Omaha spring hail storms I just might have too!!!!!

I live in Lincoln. We had a hail storm come through our area of town earlier this summer. The roofing companies swarmed in like locusts. My house is a Tudor-style. The roof is a little larger, and is VERY steep. We spoke to several companies and received a few estimates. I've never needed to have a roof replaced, so I really didn't know how to pick the good from the bad. A friend of mine had recently had his roof replaced by a company out of Omaha. He said they were looking to do more business in Lincoln. This friend of mine is one of the pickiest people I know and he recommended Husker Hammer. If they pleased him with their work, I had to give them a shot. I call the owner Matt, and he had his salesman Randy stop by. What a great experience. Randy found a lot of things that the insurance adjuster had missed. He explained what they would do and made some great suggestions on how to proceed with the project. He took care of contacting the insurance company and we were scheduled for the next week. The crew came out and completed the job in three days. The crew boss Terry took time to explain what they were doing each day, and showed me the products they were using. They cleaned up every night and REALLY cleaned up when the job was finished. The end results look fantastic, and the suggestions that Randy gave were right on the mark. I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience.
I'm not planning on needing a new roof anytime in the near future, but I'll be recommending these guys every chance I get.

Returned our phone call for an estimate in a timely manner. On the day of the repair they arrived promptly at the time they had stated. They performed the repair and cleaned up the area. They contacted us after the repair to be sure we were satisfied and if we had any concerns or problems they could correct. We were very happy with their service and would highly recommend them.

They did a good job - they committed to a specific time and met that guideline. They did have a few black "scuff" marks on our siding that they came back and fixed. Additionally they ensured that our property was free of trash/nails/etc.

The experience was good, and they did a really good job. They were good, and there wasn't anything that I didn't like about them. I would definitely recommend them, they are really good. I talked to a couple of friends before I used them, and the pricing was the reason I chose them.

It was a very good experience. They were very thorough. Their estimates were pretty accurate. They didn't embellish anything and they were pretty upfront. They didn't lie about anything. THey did a really good job and didn't press to sell me. I've had no problems and no need to call them back. They were on time and did a good job. We are definitely planning to use them again.
