Lawn Tool Repair
Took in on 6April, I called in a week and they said they were another week backlogged. I called back in 2 added weeks and still not looked at but I was next in the shop, waited another 10 days and called again and was told that their shop guys are not very technical and it was a Honda motor, next in shop. I finally called and said I was coming to pickup and he said they had looked at it and it needed a new carb, so they had one on order. After 2 more weeks, 30 May, they called and said it was ready. They had adjusted the bill down as I am sure they felt bad about not working on it within 2 weeks, it was 8 weeks. There staff that took my calls were not the friendliest bunch of men, except the "its ready" guy. I think they do good work but their customer skills are lacking. I cannot give them an "F" grade as their workmanship is fine. I never did receive any status calls, I had to make them and was never reassured of anything. I would not recommend to friends or family. I hope this is not indicative of other AL vendors with an A rating!

Took in one day, said would be ready in about a week; called next day and said was done! Provided info regarding fuel mixture/use and future maintenance requirements. Very friendly staff.

Worst time for mower problems, busiest time for shops but they promised quick turnaround for simple problems like this. Just a few days and it was done. Expecting at least a minimum service/labor charge, I was floored when I saw the bill for $20 and some change. They will definitely get repeat business from me for big and small stuff, I can trust what they say and know I'll get a fair, if not more than fair, deal.

Did a great job of getting my mower ready in the amount of time they said it would take. One issue I had was they should have called me about the cost of fixing the wheels as the total cost of repair was more then expected. Partly my fault as I should have put a dollar amount on the repair and told them to call me if it was going to be more. The only other negative was one of the traps on the mower deck was not tighten down so when I used it the first time it fell off and unfortunately I ran over it before I could stop. Other then that, the service was good, friendly and professional.

I dropped the lawn mower off at Denny's shop and a week later he called me to let me know the mower was ready to be picked up. The lawn mower worked flawlessly all through the mowing season.

It is a great place to get your lawn mower fixed. He is just great. He has to fix it this year as well. The snow blower that he fixed last year was great. He came, picked it all up and brought it back. He is a nice guy. I would use his services in the future too.

This was by far the worst I have ever been treated in my life by someone (Denny). First they said it would take a week to fix, it took 24 days to fix. I had to call them 3 to 4x a day to get a response then finally after 10 days they said, it was fixed! Not so, after 10 days when I finally got a hold of someone in the shop late one day, they said, it's ready, pick it up tomorrow. The next day they called and said, sorry, your mower isn't fixed yet, we must have put your cable on a diff. mower-NO appology! After many daily phone calls (with no call backs!) and 14 days later, they actually picked up the phone and they told me it was done. I went there at 4:30 and they were closing up the shop already (closes at 5). Upon arrival, one employee was selling dogs in the alley and Denny was pulling mowers inside so I waited for about 5 mins. for someone to help me! Here is where it gets ugly, I told Denny it took 24 days to fix this when it was supposed to be one week, he said, OK...(as if he meant, SO What) Then I asked if he could help me out on the cost due to the repair taking so long and that cost me $25 more per week to pay for someone else to mow my lawn. He chuckled, pulled the bill out, slapped it on the counter in front of me and said, This is NON-Negotiable! And looked at the guy standing next to me and said, can I help you sir! I could feel my blood boiling at this point but, kept my cool. I said you ordered my part and used it on another mower and that extened the repair time, can't you help me out with the cost? He said, that's your fault for buying a brand "X" mower. He blamed me, the customer, for this entire problem because I had a different brand of mower-UNREAL! He added, that he had ordered the cable three times-as if that was my fault. I said, you made the mistake of using my part on someone elses mower and then lost my part 2 other times and this is my fault?! He said, YES! He then admitted, I don't work on your type of mowers! I said, why didn't you tell me that when I dropped my mower off to you in the first place. He said, I have the brand of mower signs that I work on plastered all over the front of my shop, if you dropped it off and didn't ask if we work on your type of mower, then that is your fault not mine, that is Freshman mower repair, you should know that! Then he continued with, Do you take your Toyota to get fixed at a Ford dealer? I told him that someone from this shop told me that they made the mistake of using my cable on someone else's mower, now how is that delay my fault. He said, I have a lot of mechanics that work here all hours, I don't know what they all do or say to customers, that may have not even happened. At this point, I knew he was going to come up with any excuse for his incompetent work and I knew at that point this was a shop that I needed to never use ever again! I strongly advise everyone to not use this shop due to my trouble. He was so nonchalant about all of this, it couldn't possibly be the first time and I doubt it will be the last he will treat a customer this way. Bottom line, I do not recommend Denny's Fix-it in Elkhorn NE on Gate Dancer St. for any work at all!

Brought in mower in the morning. They were going to examine to determine whether to order any parts. No parts needed and repair was simple. They just went ahead and finished the Honda. When I got home, I had to turn around and go back to pick up the mower!

Chipper shredder wouldn't start. Was told it could take up to a week to repair. They called 5 hours later and it was done. The exhaust valve was stuck open. They went through, cleaned up the unit, and tuned it up (as requested by me). The machine runs better than new!

I dropped off my mower and the next day they had it done. I was expecting it would take around a week, but I didn't need it back right away. The price was much less than I anticipated since I was expecting the starter needed to be replaced. Instead they lubricated and re-calibrated the starter. Now it starts on the first pull like it's supposed to.
