We had the opportunity to be given a piano if we could get it moved to our house. I checked on Angie's List and found Transfer 88 and one other company listed. My previous work had used Transfer 88 so I was already somewhat familiar with them. I put in a request for more information to both companies. Transfer 88 tried to call me the next day--unfortunately I was working and couldn't answer and my voice mail was full! The next day they left me a message. My husband called them and made the arrangements and they were able to complete the job the same day. I never imagined it could be done so quickly! The price was what we were expecting and they knew exactly what they were doing. Wonderful experience!

They did a completely professional job in every respect. They took great care not to damage the piano in any way and took similar care not to damage the flooring at both the old location and the new location, which is very easy to damage due to the weight of the piano. They were also prompt and courteous. I could not ask for a better experience.

We have an old, upright, player piano that easily weighs 700+ pounds. Jason and his crew had to take it out of our house and down 2 sets of deck stairs. They handled the whole job like pros!

We contacted 3 different piano movers, Transfer 88 had the best price and I saw they had good reviews on Angieslist (I couldn't find any reviews for the other movers). Great communication prior to the move. They were punctual to pick up the piano and called me when they were on the way to give me a heads up. They were very professional and did exactly what we needed them to do and in a short time frame. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to move a piano. We will definately call on them again if we ever need another piano moved.

Called 3 movers and got the best price here. Punctual, well groomed and very precise with move. Moved a baby grand piano about 8 miles. I asked if he could move my old Spinet from the basement to garage and they did it with no hesitation. Would highly recommend.

Although they were very late getting to my home, they did call several times adjusting their arrival time. I hired them to move my piano from my basement to the main floor. I also hired them to move a piano from a friend's house to another person's house. They were very quick to move the pianos. I also thought their fee was very reasonable.

Friendly, prompt, and professional. When we spoke on the phone, I described the job, including the number of steps (and relative steepness) at each house. The guys gave me a bid and let me know it could go up or down by $15-25 depending on the actual difficulty. I appreciated that information up front. They called before they came, arrived as promised, moved the piano with care, and charged me the original quoted price. Both men were knowledgeable and friendly. I made a comment about my next call being to the piano tuner, but they advised me not to have it tuned for a month or so, to give the piano time to settle / adjust to the change in humidity in my house. That was much appreciated advice that a tuner might not have volunteered. So thanks!

Transfer 88 met me at the house in Blair and moved the piano out through a tight kitchen and down a very steep hill, loading it onto their truck. Then they met me at the house in midtown, moved the piano up the stairs to my porch, through a very awkwardly shaped foyer with millimeters to spare and into my dining room without a scratch. They were quick and efficient despite the fact that it was one of the heaviest pianos they had moved in a while (so said Jason). The whole ordeal took about an hour, which is pretty quick considering the drive form Blair.
