The tree was in the backyard about 60 feet from the street behind an 80 foot long hedge and fenced in yard. Quickly a man in a bucket at the end of one crane was reaching from the street into the tree and cutting branches. Another huge crane with John in the operators seat was extended high above the tree. A team of 6 other men were quickly running all branches through a powerful clipper. I was told by one of the men that the machine could handle 22 inch diameter branches and they had another machine that could handle over 30 inch. The team worked quickly and removed the tree. Several pieces including the trunk were lifted by the crane onto a flat bed trunk. Then they ground the trunk and removed the dirt and chips. The hole was then filled with dirt. The area was left clean and I gave John a check. John also felt it was a good decision to remove the tree after seeing the quality of the tree during the removal.
John does not use top soil to refill the hole so I would suggest not having it totally filled so that top soil could be added. I added several bags of top soil and have grass starting to grow.
We plan to plant some new trees in the fall.
