Insurance Agencies
The Adjuster called promptly but we were out of town.
Played phone tag for a day and he said he would call next day around 8:30 a.m.
and that was exactly when he called.
Tried to explain where the condo was located while thinking GPS ? Google Map ?
Then explained what had happened. This is where it turned into an accusing
interrogation.
How much was I paying these people to paint/renovate my condo ? I don't see the
relevance of this information.
What all are they doing ?? Again, don't see the relevance or any business of the insurance company. No one's going around damaging plumbing, sinks and faucets worked fine until the leak.
Wanted everyones name who had worked there. REALLY ? Heating and Air guys,
utility guys, complex handyman, carpet cleaning guys, patio door installers, garage door repairman, painters including their children
who stopped by, realtor, husband, her workers, furniture movers and stagers.
And last but not least the tons of people who bid jobs for me.
DO NOT see the relevance of this at all unless there is a serial pipe killer
loose.
Insurance companies are spending millions on advertising to entice me to join
them. I don't question every little word in their policies and grill them for information that has nothing to do with the fact "A water
leak happened, stained my carpet and ceiling." I pay thousands and
thousands a year so all I have to do is pick up the phone and report my
problem. I'm contacting my agent and insurance company canceling my policies
after 10+ years because I didn't pay all of this money to be grilled like a
criminal. I pay my policy in good faith and I expect the same. A much better
way to have handled this would be check background(clean) and credit rating
(819+) ask how much I thought it would cost above deductible and write a check.
