I have been using them for a few months. My experience was wonderful there. They were attentive, they were concerned and they seemed like they care.

One of my dogs has severe anxiety about going to the vet. She has to take sedatives before hand, and still flails and tries to run away during the exam. West Oaks Animal Hospital doesn't have a waiting room, so they took us to our exam room right away, and they made sure the hallway/reception area was clear before we left the exam room. This really helped my dog's anxiety, and made the vet visit easier. Dr. Hunskor was very calm and patient with both of the dogs, which was great. He told us that they like to do a blood panel test on dogs that are older, but said the decision was up to us, and I didn't feel like I was being pressured or guilted into doing it. Everyone was nice and friendly, even though my dog had several accidents on the floor while we were there.

Most other places weren't taking patients for months and they seemed to get me in right away! I didn't have to pay a new client fee and only payed for and received what I wanted. I didn't have to get any shots or do blood work if I didn't want it done, which greatly saved on the cost. The place looked clean and everyone I came in contact with was so nice, caring and willing to work with me on any questions or concerns I may have had. Even my cat loved it!

I had been searching for a vet for my new puppy for and being a new dog owner was unsure of what exactly to look for in a vet.
I had tried Pinkerton and I was not overly fond. The waiting room always seemed dirty and the clinic just too large for what I felt comfortable with.
West Oaks on the other hand is always has been clean and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgable. There are two resident vets and only a few nurses. The clinic is on the smaller side but the service is perfect and exactly what I'm looking. I trust my dog's care and health to them completely.
Being new to owning a dog everyone there is more than willing to take the time to explain exactly what they are doing, and the medicine they are giving. This attitude makes me appreciate them even more as I have a need to understand exactly how things work and how they will effect the new family member.

My dog has been having troubles with her leg, she is very active and I
had let it go for a couple of months trying to avoid a vet bill. I was
sure it would heal on it's own. It had not. So, I am new to Minot and
wasn't sure what I was in for with a new vet.
I have two dogs and thought I would get them both updated on their shots and get Dingo's leg checked at the same time.
As
soon as I walked in the door the receptionist was friendly. The Clinic
was very clean. So far so good. I had both my dogs with me, Seeley a 13
year old Chocolate Lab and Dingo a 6 year old Mix.(looks like a Dingo).
The people were so friendly I almost felt like I was back home in
my small town in Montana where everyone knows everyone. I felt welcome
and that was really nice for me not expecting anything special from a
vet visit.
When I met the vet he shook my hand was very nice. Well, I
then remembered that my older dog had some lumps on her and so I asked
him if he would be able to check them out. Sure enough he took samples,
and had them tested while he gave them their rabies-distemper shots and
looked at Dingos leg. Very nice guy, he listened to me, didn't give me
any criticism for not bringing her in sooner. Really went the extra mile
with all the extra things I kept having him check since I don't really
like going to the vet to often and was just trying to make sure
everything was checked out while I was there. He was sincere, and didn't
want to do a bunch of expensive tests just told me she had probably
torn something in her knee and the best thing I could do was to just
keep her from using it as much as possible. He did spend a lot of time
feeling her leg, pulling on it, etc. He took his time examining her and
talking to me. I felt like he had all the time in the world for just
me.
I got Dingo when she was two and she has always had a fear of men. She liked this guy. Good sign in my book.
So now, I go to pay expecting a huge bill because I had two dogs and a bunch of tests and such and such a great vet. $90.00 all together WOW!
The Two ladies at the receptionist desk were very friendly talked about my dogs, their dogs and they were just very down to earth and relatable people while being very professional at the same time.
I am a loyal costumer now. This is the best experience at a vet ever all the way around.

The Staff is very nice.My cat was very sick with oral cancer but they did all they could to make him(and me) more comfortable. He lost the fight and when the day came to end his suffering they were very compassionate, they guided me through every step and gave me the feeling that i was the only person there even though the clinic was full with people.Thank you so much
