Michelle Bloom Interiors

My husband began planning this just prior to my leaving to go to Norway in January 2011 for a semester teaching.  Shelly drew up a plan for the remodel and a schedule.   The project took about 5 months from planning through completion and it was done before I even got back to the U.S.   First, the existing upper cabinets were removed from the kitchen, and all of the cabinetry and closet were taken out of the laundry room.  Flooring was removed from entire main floor of the house.  Walls were patched and painted.  New cabinets and flooring installed.  Kitchen cabinets were in a new configuration with more appropriate and accessible storage, a desk was removed, a new pantry was added, new countertop and tile backsplash were added, new sinks and new faucets in both the laundry room and kitchen, new storage cabinets and 3 lockers were added to the laundry room.  Cork flooring was put through the kitchen and main floor and heated ceramic tile was added in the laundry room.  New lighting was added to the kitchen and laundry room.   These included can lights in the ceiling, under counter lighting in the kitchen and new light fixtures over the counter and sink.  The job was finished off with beautiful leather stools for the breakfast bar. 

The contractors that Shelly used were highly professional and have come to fix any issues that occurred.  Very few have--a few loose hinges and a broken cabinet shelf.  Overall, the effect was magnificent and my surprise exceeded any ideas I could have had on my own.  Working with Shelly helped my husband to take on this major renovation in a sane manner and in a way that I never could have imagined.  Considering that I had no knowledge of this massive project, Shelly must have the patience of a saint and great vision that fit me to a "T".  I will definitely consider utilizing her services again and will recommend her to anyone looking for interior design help!
