Early on, the provider's representative had put the first machine outside the affected room and left the bedroom door open.  On a subsequent visit, after learning of the insurance claim, the provider's representative brought a second machine that he said was needed upstairs.  Representative had required two payments of $1,205.44 and $968.00 and promised to contact our insurer to cover the remaining rental for those machines. EAS representative looked like he was testing air and surfaces and produced scary report plus brochure for ODOROX machines that said they would "eradicate  . . . mold decontaminate surfaces and purify the air".  He put one machine downstairs telling me that he didn't expect I could afford renting it for long.  After I said that an insurance claim was in progress he showed me a new bill that he was sending to the insurance company and brought in a second machine that he insisted was needed upstairs.  He asked me to fill out a form for Angie's List Review early on.  I believed what he was telling me and mailed the form back to him with a positive review.   On 10/10/14 after picking up both machines he presented me with a $9.495.00 bill and said he wasn't leaving until I gave him a check (even though I told him I couldn't write a check for that much).   I did inform the company by phone that I was not paying the bill because the machines had not done what they were supposed to do.  When I had requested that that positive review be pulled from Angie's List, I was told that it had never come in.  By the time of the second Collections call, I was told that I must have been satisfied with the service because of the A rating I had given Environmental Services.  Now, of course, after weeks of having the room sealed and air scrubbed while the contractor was working, I understand that the machines were not doing what I had been told they would do, and have submitted a revised F rating for Environmental Air Solutions.
Response from

"I am writing this letter to clear up a few misconceptions about a recent clients rating. First, I Levi Gienger, Vice President would like to say that Environmental Air Solutions specializes in indoor air quality. We have serviced both residential homes and commercial businesses on a professional level since 2008. On 8/31/14, I was contacted by the client [member name removed] to conduct air and surface quality testing within her home. Once tested was completed, I suggested the Odorox air purification system as a temporary solution to help reduce odor and future mold growth so that she could remain inside her home and she willingly agreed by signing the necessary paperwork. Once the results from the air and surface testing came back on 9/3/14, I wrote up a report (report included) and indicated a higher than normal mold spore count within the home. This report also indicated the recommended steps to follow. On the date of September 10th, 2014 I went back to puck up the air purification unit. Once I got into the home of the client I put the unit inside a large plastic bag to keep everything sealed so that it wouldn’t spread any contaminants throughout the home. Prior to leaving, the client was concerned that if I took the unit out she would need to leave her home with this concern of the clients health at risk and unsure when further restoration would be done, I suggested that she get a second unit to protect her own well being. She willingly agreed to rent two units for a period of 1 month by signing the necessary paperwork. The above client also wrote me a positive “A” rating review to Angie’s List. (Included) During the course of the next month, I went back once per week to be sure the equipment was operating properly. ON the date of October 10th, 2014 I return to the client’s home to pick up the units which she agreed with. During this entire process, Environmental Air Solutions responsibility was to test the air and surface quality and help protect the owner from future issues. The client insisted that her insurance would cover everything. It was not my responsibility to contact the insurance company for authorization to perform any task that was needed to be completed. It’s the client’s responsibility to check with their insurance company to be sure everything is covered. The insurance company did not contact me with any form of authorization. The client signed authorization which gave Environmental Air Solutions permission to start for each project that was performed. The first project for $2,173.44 was paid in full. The second project has a balance of $9,491.32 this balance does not include interest. I ended up contacting the insurance company after three months of nonpayment. The insurance company indicated that they did not authorize the second project and will not be paying for it. They told me to contact the home owner for further payment. Now since homeowner is denying responsible to pay the $9,491.32 I sent the balance to collection agency. Since the client has been contacted by collections she has revoked her positive rating from Angie’s List and is now trying to claim that Environmental Air Solutions did not maintain professionalism, and is also speaking negatively about our service and products. In closing, the purpose of this letter has nothing to do with money. My main concern is the reputation and negativity that it has put on Environmental Air Solutions or Odorox air purification products. I strongly encourage you to take a closer look at Environmental Air Solutions positive reputation of giving clients air to breathe and remove this current review due to the client’s negative remarks due to inability to pay. Please let me know if you have any further concerns or questions."
