Pleased with the quality of work, with the following problems noted: 1) workers did not clean up at the end of each day.2) had to contact Floor to Ceiling daily to get time of arrival of workers3) did not complete window installation as the brick mold was not put on the outside of window. I had to contract with the company who replaced my other windows in the home to finish the job. Reason stated was he has never done this before as it was not necessary, just needed to put the J-Channel around the window when the siding is replaced. 4) Workers who did the taping/mudding/painting would not put mud and paint near the floor as they stated that trim would cover it. What would it look like if I did not install trim? I also had the paint contractor try to collect his fee from me, not Floor to Ceiling. 5) tile subcontractor started job, then ran out of tile (had to wait over a week for more tile to arrive through Floor to Ceiling), installed the missing tile, then had to force him back to finish job by contacting Floor to Ceiling in person. When he came back (with bad attitude), there was areas in the tile where grout was not pushed in and I had to get another person to complete the job correctly as I would not have him come back to finish the job due to his attitude.6) I was understood during our discussing with the designer that there was to be a medicine and linen cabinet installed and same when the deposit was made. This did not happen. Had to go and purchase these items, then try to stain them to match the vanity. Got close the the finish of the vanity. Had to install myself.
The time from initial contact with Floor to Ceiling to completion of the work took approximately 4 1/2 months. The time from start to finish of the remodeling took approximately 1 month. They advertise that they are your "Remodeling Partners", however, I do not believe this.
I did address my dissatisfaction with what I have stated above to the owner of the business by letter and sent a copy of the letter to the corporate office, but have not receive any response from no one. Based on discussion with others people about Floor to Ceiling, I should not expect any action as they don't care about customer service.
The expensive all-black Danze plumbing fixtures we selected, while beautiful, are absolutely defective. The black finish began flaking off a sink drain within a couple of months of intallation. The store replaced it but finish has now flaked off the replacement. The finsih on the shower fixture is also now flaking off. One of the sink drains and the tub/shower fixture leaks. We are unable to use the shower or tub. Four months ago, the store agreed to replace all the plumbing fixtures and gave us a catalogue to select new ones. However, apparently the new ones are on back order so we wait.
The porcelain tile installation was done poorly. The bullnose tile didn't seem to match the larger tiles as it did in the store. When we pointed this out to the sales person, she explained that color varies and she reassured us it was the correct tile. However, when we hired another contractor to fix some of the mistakes done in installation, the bullnose shipped was indeed very different from what had been installed in our home. The sales person came out to see and agreed the tile installed was not a match. She took pictures and promised to replace. However, since then the tile is no longer being manufactured. She has not yet offered a resolution.
We are very weary of dealing with Floor to Ceiling and wish we had never done business with them. Too bad we didn't know about Angie's List when we started our remodeling project.
Update: At long last, they did give us a refund for the what we paid for the tile and its installation. They also eventually replaced the plumbing fixtures with a less expensive set that we selected and they gave us a refund in the amount of the difference. In our weariness in dealling with them, we were happy to walk away with that resolutioin.
