Regional Foundation & Crawl Space Repair

Despite others having a higher average rating I hired Regional Foundation because the salesman, John, took his time, did a thorough evaluation and recommended solutions that no one else had which saved me money. The experience with the crew was great, Johnathan the supervisor communicated well and was punctual. I was quoted a week but Juan and Marcos were incredibly hard workers. The completed the job in three days. My spouse and I are very happy with the work, the air inside is better, less musty, and the AC feels cooler and less damp. Excited to see our next electric bill. Would recommend Regional Foundation.

I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update: they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I did not and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!

We paid $12,000 to level our floors in our 1800 ft² house. Well, we still have waves throughout the house, they only did the center of the house (kitchen and bath) that is it. They said that should take care of it. When we had them come back out 90 days later to recheck and do some adjustments there was no change. Except we did end up with all the tile on that center wall in our kitchen cracked. They said that was the best they could do. They still call every year to see if we want them to come out and do an inspection for a $185 fee of course. I do not want them anywhere near my house.

Regional did a good job installing a supplemental support beam in my crawlspace where the foundation had pulled away from the ground-floor joists. Of the three companies I contacted Regional proposed the right (IMO) solution at the best price, if only by a small margin. The problem area was a 1904 structure and Bill Shay, the Regional salesman, was very knowledgeable in those construction methods, especially thorough in his inspection, and he delivered a very prompt proposal with options. I had decided to use a competitor until I saw Bill's expertise and proposal. The installers (Leonard and Chris) were courteous and professional throughout, something I never manage after working in my own crawlspace. The Regional proposal included an engineering evaluation, which was disappointing to me. Those engineers are remote (in Seattle) and use a local field agent to collect data. Apparently, the engineers did not really understand the root problem or the 19th century construction methods (balloon framing and a stacked-stone foundation). They approved the Regional's recommended solution but made optional recommendations that were "off the mark" IMO. Still, t heir recommendations may have been fine for modern (post about 1950) structures. The work was completed yesterday but I'm a happy customer at this point.
