Advance Moving & Storage

This was the easiest move I've ever had and I've moved a lot. Nick and Matt were very professional and worked quickly. Final cost was much less than I had believed it would be, would definitely hire again.

This is the best moving company with whom I have worked! Nicest people in the world, always looking for ways to save me money, and they handled all items with care. Very knowledgeable and put boxes and furniture in storage in a way that everything fit without much space to spare.

They overestimated the load weight, refused to weigh the truck for accuracy, charged the full estimated weight, and claimed we agreed to those terms. The packers put sticky tape right on expensive rug backs without shrink-wrapping first, then dropped one in a gutter full of wet leaves, didn't leave the lamp they were instructed to (3x) but didn't bring lampshade boxes. At the delivery site, an upstairs wall was gouged and a kitchen chair was broken (we repaired both). On the plus side, everything packed was received, their phone rep was courteous and responsive, they showed up when promised, and the delivery personnel were respectful and courteous.

The truck arrived at the designated time and the staff was friendly and professional.  We felt at all times that they treated our belongings as if they were their own.  We moved over a two day period and the staff and service were excellent both days.  The quote was performed ahead of time and we actually got two quotes.  We decided to go with Advance on the recommendation of someone we knew and we were impressed with the knowledge and service.  We were not disappointed and would recommend this company for household moving needs.  Nothing was damaged and the process was painless.

At the time I used this company, they were also doing some furniture repair and refinishing.  So, I had them paint some wicker furniture and refinish a bed.  What a mistake!  First, the man assured me that they could refinish my bed to match another piece that I had - of course, it didn't match, and then I had to pay to have them refinish the OTHER piece, as well.  But that was forgivable.  The worst part was when my wicker furniture was delivered.  First, they brought out the wrong furniture.  Then, when they delivered the right furniture, it was painted the wrong color, and with the wrong paint.  I had paid for a custom color, but they didn't bother with that and just painted my furniture with bright white Kilz instead.  When I questioned the man, he lied to me and told me that he HAD gotten the custom match as planned.  A painter later confirmed to me that there was no way that the paint on my furniture was what I had ordered and paid for.
Bottom line - I would not use this company for ANY service, ever.  I don't care if the incident was 15 years ago.  I still remember it.  And the owners are still the same people.
