Doors (Exterior) - Install or Replace
Ron was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond my expectations to get my job done. Very personable and pleasant. He installed a door for me and it was on a modular home and it was not an easy project but he got it done. I would definitely recommend Ron!! I will have him back for other projects.

Very easy to work with, went above and beyond to complete the project. My house is old and quirky, nothing about this project was easy but he did a great job making everything secure and supported. I would absolutely recommend him.

"Great review and thanks... as you know the difficulty on this project was a 10... So many issues to resolve from walls not being plumb to flooring not level to door rough opening not being square, Throw in rotten wood replacement & shoreing up the threshold from sagging... adds up to a long check list, but in the end... it all came together beautifully and I appreciate your understanding that it took alot of extra effort and time to complete it properly."

Wouldn't suggest anyone else! Very knowledgeable and helpful at the estimate, timely, and goes the extra mile. My house is old, and he ran into difficulties installing the large front door hurricane shutter. Worked around the problem, got it done, looks and operates great! Hurricane Ron and crew will make sure you never have to worry about your house in a storm again!

"THANK YOU... VERNE. "Life is truly a box of chocolates and you never know what you"re going to get". The walls were made of wood frame structure. Upon installation gaps were found in the header (above the door)... I had to raise the top track to find structure in the wall and replace the original (ordered) bottom track to a (Adjustable) bottom track... This required 2 trips and additional time and labor... no extras were charged."

Ron and his first-rate crew installed our hurricane shutters despite the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic and severe weather interruptions, keeping us safe and our home secure and dry throughout. Ron returned my calls and answered my questions honestly and promptly. Always keeping us appraised of progress and of any issues that may have come up. He and his crew are courteous, business-like. "Thanks Kathleen. This is a 3 story home located in Key Largo, (On the Bay) with 27 openings and installing most of the accordion shutters on stage scaffolding or ladders. It took about 6 days to install plus a couple of more to take care of miscellaneous issues. The bottom line, the project looks great and the customer is happy and that's all that counts."

Hurricane Rons team installed hurricane shutters on my home in Key Largo about 3 years ago. I have had 3 years to evaluate the quality of the work. The fact that he has nearly a perfect 5 star rating here surprises me but I presume that this is due to most folks leaving a rating right after he completes the job or perhaps because the work he did for the was very simple or a small project that requires little skill. First of all let me say that Ron is a personable guy. He would be a good used car salesman as he is good at creating that bond with the client. He is also punctual (unusual here in S Florida, especially here in the Keys) and a good communicator. We had Ron (or more specifically Rons crew) install about 15 hurricane shutters on our vacation home here in Key Largo. The good: He answered the phone, was punctual, showed up. He talks a great game. The bad: after ~3 years I believe that he (his crew) could have done a much better job. Why? A number of reasons. First, when he drilled holes into our slab it allowed water to drain into the slab. This caused terrible concrete spalling. The problem cost around 5k to repair. The problem could have been easily prevented if Ron had sealed the holes and the thresholds when the shutters were installed. I have since sealed the holes created by Hurricane Ron and sealed the thresholds and the problem is fixed. Second: his work was generally sloppy (many exposed shims, unpainted, clashed with the house/different colored screws used, I asked him about the screws and he brushed me off - I wish I had been more persistent - I have since painted all the screws to match and that was a pain in the ***/locks installed that dont work and/or are not accessible/the plastic started coming off the turn knobs in less than a year/holes drilled too small on the bolts that secure the shutters to the frames). There are other problems but these are some of the ones that come to mind. I got only one estimate so I know nothing about if he gave me a good price. I should have gotten more estimates but Ron seemed like a quality operator. I overlooked the flaws during the install since I did not want to be overly critical but every year I button up the house for hurricane season Rons work pisses me off yet again. Two of my windows shutters I cant even get access to the bolts to lock because of the way Ron installed the shutter. I knew nothing about shutters then and I relied on Rons appearance of excellent service and professionalism. I wish that I would have done more research. I would not use Hurricane Ron and I do not recommend him or his crew.

"Wow, I could go on for hours about all of the extra time, money and effort I put into this project. First I want to say, that I'm sorry he went through difficulties on a project that I was involved in. Secondly... The house was about 30 years old and 3 stories tall and built with wood stud walls that was covered with Stucco... upon the start of installation it was discovered that the walls were bowed in, as much as, 3/4" and that was a major problem that he was made aware of immediately. I recomended that he straighten out the walls bye adding more stucco, which he rejected and said to " Go ahead and do the best as you can". My only option was to fill the gaps in the wall with heavy duty (50 year silicone). In closing.... I want to say... That I was not made aware of any problems or issues... not one call over the past 3 years and it's kind of hard to fix something if you don't know it is broken... The last words spoken to me were that you were very pleased with the entire project and were surprised at how well it looked given the difficulties you were made aware of and we had to overcome. As for the screws... The customer wanted white screws. Key Largo / Monroe County code requires using Stainless Steel screws with no exceptions... I could go on but what's the point... The bottom line is... I have an unhappy customer and that falls on me... That said, I am sorry it happened, but I should have been called."

Showed up on time as scheduled , quality materials , craftsmanship & attention to detail was outstanding . Kept us updated regarding permit process & status . Hurricane Ron responded to my request immediately and gave a me an estimate for my project within a few days. His presentation was professional and he is very experienced. I was born and raised in Miami and now live in Coral Springs and have been through many hurricanes in 70 years. Ron did a very professional job installing the shutters a few months before the hurricane season. He is knowledgeable, helpful and you can trust him to do excellent work for you. He and his team came all the way up to Coral Springs to do our work. You will be glad to do business with him.

"To me, the little jobs are just as important as the big ones. Thank You Megan... That was very kind of you, as it was only for one opening and took only a hour to do...lol... The time it took to go to your house, measure the opening and write the contract, then go to the manufacturer to get the shutter and deliver, took 4 times as long, then to install. Again thanks"

I hired Hurricane Ron to put up shutters on three doors. He was very prompt and courteous. Ron's prices were very fair and he thoroughly explained my installation choices. Ron called several times to set up the installations. His son installed my shutters a week or so later. Again, he was very polite and made sure I knew how to put them up, and gave me extra materials just in case I lost some screws or wing nuts. Great service! Excellent job! I would strongly recommend Ron and his son!

Ron, his son, and his helper Vince were all incredibly professional and courteous. I do not normally write reviews, but I had to for Ron. He does a great job with his hurricane shutters projects. I have had his help on two separate projects for our house and my family had him on a project for their house and all have been extremely satisfied with the work. Do not wait for Hurricane Season - get it done early because he gets very busy.

They installed the Hurricane Accordion Storm Shutters and Storm Panels perfectly, and very quickly after I signed the contract.
