SOUTH FORK CLEANERS

We stopped going here for a period of time because of a number of issues that we had with their services. My husband usually gets his shirts done with light starch, but "light" starch according to South Fork is much more than other dry cleaners we've used in the past, so we started asking for no starch. Additionally, my husband wears a couple suits with permanent creases in the pant legs (i.e. a "Traveler's Crease"), and South Fork messed up the crease on two pairs of suit pants like this by pressing the pants on a slightly different line than the permanent crease, so that there were two creases right next to each other. This is even after my husband pointed out the traveler's crease to them when dropping the suit off to make sure they followed that line when pressing.

Because of these issues, we switched for a few weeks to A Cleaner World (just up Robinhood Rd from South Fork), but ended up having other issues with them, and they are definitely pricier than South Fork. So, now we're back at South Fork but are being very explicit about any concerns we have. For example, my husband (who is a big man) got some shirts back with a crease in the middle at the bottom, and was told that this is a problem with larger shirts because of where the press hits them. They told him he simply needs to ask them to iron out those creases when he drops the shirts off (why they don't automatically do that is beyond me--they said that some men don't care since they are tucking the shirt in anyway).

Bottom line: They aren't the best, but unless we find a better cleaners with a fairly convenient location to our home, we'll probably stick with South Fork.
