Ooma has achieved several awards through PC Magazine and continues to Building on our success. Our channels we operate in are Home, Business Space SMB, and Enterprise-level Corporations. Ooma Office offers everything you’d ever need in a business phone system at a fraction of the cost while offering the quality and reliability you’d expect from Ooma. "I purchased an Ooma Telo ($149) and signed up with Ooma in Dec. 2011. I cut the copper cord with Centurylink where I was paying approx. $70 p/mo. for my home line and a custom ringing number for my home based business. I have saved over $5661 to date ( 5+ years) without compromising quality of service. I pay Ooma approx $15.50 p/month total with the optional Ooma Premier Service. ($9.99p/mo + State & Fed tele taxes) Without Ooma Premier, you only pay approx $5.50p/mo for State+Fed tele tax. Ooma Premier includes a 2nd telephone number, 3-way conference calling, unlimited long distance calling in the US, Mexico and Canada, simultaneous ring / call forwarding to and from my cell phone and many other benefits. Ooma (with Premier Service) plays well with my cell phone service...allowing me to receive and make calls with my home phone handsets while I recharge my cell phone. Another advantage of having Ooma is that I don't have to give out my cell phone number to everyone. I highly recommend Ooma to anyone who wants the advantages of home phone and/or a small business phone service at a fraction of the price of a landline."

Landline Phone Service questions, answered by experts

For Winston Salem’s climate, choose weatherproof junction boxes, UV-resistant outdoor cabling, and moisture-sealed connectors to protect against humidity and storms. Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables are recommended for reliable home phone wiring and future-proofing. Use high-quality surge protectors and proper grounding materials to handle local soil conditions and frequent lightning, ensuring your landline phone service remains dependable year-round.

Helpful?

In Winston Salem, homeowners should consider the age and type of home wiring, especially in historic neighborhoods where older phone line installation may require upgrades. Hilly terrain and mature trees can affect service reliability and access for technicians. Local weather patterns, such as frequent thunderstorms and ice events, can impact above-ground home phone wiring, so planning for durable, weather-resistant solutions is essential for long-term performance.

Helpful?

Landline phone service in Winston Salem benefits from seasonal inspections, especially after heavy rain or ice storms, to check for moisture intrusion or physical damage to outdoor wiring. Due to the region’s humidity, regularly inspect junction boxes for corrosion and ensure all connections remain secure. Testing your home phone wiring every six months helps catch issues early, and maintaining backup power sources supports continued service during local outages.

Helpful?

When hiring a landline phone service professional in Winston Salem, verify they have experience with both older and newer home phone wiring systems common in the area. Ensure they understand local permitting requirements, especially for homes in historic districts. Ask about their familiarity with Winston Salem’s unique weather challenges, and request references from nearby homeowners to confirm reliable service in your specific neighborhood or rural location.

Helpful?

Your Winston Salem home is well-suited for landline phone service if it has intact structured cabling or existing phone line entry points, which are common in homes built after 2000. Older or historic homes may need updated wiring to support modern phone line installation. Also, check the availability of local providers and the condition of your current wiring to ensure compatibility with new service upgrades.
