Description of Work: I contacted Alex for an estimate to waterproof our basement. He came out the day after another provider came. Both providers were given the same information, including a description of the problem as well as the fact that we were working on several large projects for our house to fix it up. Both Alex and the other diagnosed the same problem, but whereas the other provider came up with the "Cadillac" solution (i.e., $$$$$), Alex understood that we wanted the problem fixed, had limited funds to complete several projects, and recommended only what needed to be done. In our basement, only some of the walls are underground. The first provider recommended installing a waterguard system around the entire perimeter of the basement, including the walls that are not underground, installing a top-of-the-line sump pump, and a dehumidifier. Alex told us that we did not need the waterproofing system on the walls that were not underground and recommended a very good sump pump and dehumidifer. Additionally, he noted some areas of the walls that were discolored from water damage and offered to paint them as well. He also offered to fix some sticking doors and install a vent in a closet upstairs that has moisture issues, and he recommended installing the dehumidifier under that closet to help control the moisture issues. We contracted Alex to waterproof our basement, as we felt that he actually listened to us rather than trying to get the biggest sale possible and doing work that was not absolutely needed. He told us that the first day would be loud, as the workers would be using jack hammers, and recommended that my husband and I work out of the house on that day (we both work from home). He told us that the job would take two days and told us exactly what to expect.

Description of Work: They dug out around my house to waterproof the exterior and they left my yard like they had never been there. Great work and now my basement does not leak!!!
