"We apologize that the Customer’s feel this way. We did not build 28 houses in the development. We only built four and, that being said, have three other satisfied homeowners. Sometimes, in the building process, you have a homebuyer client that isn't always available, day in and day out. Clients who are not on the same page with what they each want in a home, can be the hardest to satisfy. It can simply be an impossible situation for the builder to please the homebuyer clients in those instances. To make matters even more difficult, it was our understanding from the conversations with customer that his wife never wanted to move to this area after they began building their home. For the two years after closing, customer would not leave her homeplace and move into the new home. When we did our annual warranty, the only things in the house were a tv, twin bed and lawn chair. We are not even sure if they ever moved into the home to this day. The home inspector of Pillar-To-Post, who did the inspection of this property, commented that the home was of high quality construction. We did not overcharge the customer for the product he received. He and his wife signed a contract which included a 10-page, detailed specification on what they wanted in their home. It states in the specifications an outline of selection allowances (i.e. appliances, lighting, tile, hardwood, etc.), as well as detailing each category of builder responsibilities and type of materials (meeting the NC Building Code standards) they wished be used on the exterior/interior of their home. Sometimes it is impossible to please a client and, again, we apologize and are saddened and surprised about how the customer’s feel, four years after we completed their home. We would have preferred he contacted us to resolve any issues they had, verses venting them here, four years after the fact. That being said, we wish them well and hope they eventually find the home they are looking for in the area where they wish to live. AE Properties prides itself on customer satisfaction."
